Ep 1-3 was a little to melodramatic for my taste. This theme of young, innocent looking girls being deadly assassins is not uncommon in the anime world. (Kirika (Noir) comes strongly to mind.) There is no apparent basic plot, at least not obvious as of ep 4. The focus seems to be on the girls themselves. The unhealthy and unnatural relationship of girls with their guardian ‘brother’ is explored. Maybe Henrietta was a little too girly for me. At least Triela in Ep 4 made me decide to persist in collecting the series. She has a lot more personality and also credibility. In many ways, Ep 4 was much richer in detail and feeling than Ep 1-3. I guess the challenge for them is not let it degenerate into some soap opera. Hoping they would balance the character development with some basic plot. This way, there would be less strain on the characters to deliver.
Shingetsutan Tsukihime 06
The plot is still not moving much. There’s some character development but it’s still fairly slow. It seems like they are relying only on the charisma of the characters to drive the series and that by itself is usually insufficient to grip the audience. (Azumanga Daioh and Da Capo are exceptions) I wouldn’t classifiy this as horror anymore. It’s a romantic drama. It’s mostly about how the different girls interact with Shiki and how much of an klutz Shiki is. There’s the cute, pink haired Hisui, whose quiet and unwavering loyalty to Shiki makes me sooo envious. Imagine she lied to her Akiha sama to cover up for her beloved Shiki sama (Derivative statement: *I have the hots for you, Shiki sama*). How many cute pink haired maids will do that? There’s also our bold Ciel senpai who openly declares her love for Shiki in the school canteen. (*Forget about her already!* roughly translated *I’ve got the hots for you, Tohno kun*) Of course there’s Arcueid who takes up part time modeling to buy Shiki a meal and asks for a date etc. Yeah yeah, we know, she has the hots for him too… This series is from a dating sim alright.
The well crafted ambience of the series is starting to wane, starved by the slow pace of the plot. If something or some answers don’t come soon, Tsukihime would end up like another Wolf’s rain, all atmosphere, no substance. Still looking forward to Ep 7. The countdown has began, 6 more eps to go…..
Da Capo 07-09
I was going to write off Da Capo as a poorly executed dating-sim-turned-anime. Up to Ep 7, there is still virtually no plot development. All the effort was channelled into introducing the girls in the series. The 7 eps culminate to the highly anticipated Ep 8 which is a recap ep of all the girls. Their bio-data such as weight, height and 3 sizes were comprehensively and lovingly presented. (They are 15 yr olds btw) However, I changed my mind abt the series after ep 9…. Da Capo is a poorly executed dating-sim-turned-anime with 1 x REALLY REALLY cute girl….. Nemu-chan!! Yeah I had known she was cute. After all she’s the reason I’m catching this mediocre series. But her kawaii-ness surpasses my expectations/imagination

4. Audition for Onegai Twins 2, I believe they have a part for you there.

Difficult choices. I definitely don’t want to be in Takayuki’s shoes. I bet he doesn’t know who he loves either. Hmm maybe even both? You can really see the torn soul of Takayuki. His struggle is immense but I must say Mitsuki’s pain and uncertainty are even more torturous. In fact, her insecurity really shows. The assurances she needs, verbal, or non-verbal; the brooding nights. Sigh, Mitsuki’s a really sad char. She’s come a long way to be with Takayuki and it had been a really painful path. What I’m going to say next does not reflect my monogamous beliefs but wouldn’t all these problems be solved if he have the both of them? A necessary evil only because we live in an imperfect world……*Ok ok, I take that back!! Sorry!! plse keep that M16, thank you… and yes the chainsaw too* Yeah this is an anime ranting blog ok? Among the 3 of them, I guess Haruka has it the easiest (for now at least). She sleeps for 3 yrs, oblivious to the love and suffering of people who cared so much for her. When she wakes, people continue to tread very carefully around her, to protect and love her. I personally feel whoever Takayuki ends up with (Haruka or Mitsuki), it wouldn’t be fair. I wonder if people would burn down Studio Fantasia if Takayuki ends up with Daikuuji or MayuMayu.

So Arcueid is not immune to her natural craving for blood. Then Ciel is right. She is the most dangerous person for Shiki now. So what’s Arcueid’s purpose? She seems to be alone in this. With opposing vampire factions sending assasins and the church organisation (Ciel) after her, her chances of succeeding in her goal seems small. And her only ally is Shiki? But I think Arcueid’s right that Shiki is more powerful than he thinks. Arcueid killed Ciel before; is supposed to be more powerful than Nero, but she was killed in a flash by Shiki. Woah. The ULTIMATE killer. We also learnt that Arcueid is quite clueless about the human world. Maybe innocence would be a better word. It only makes her more attractive 
. This ep shows really how lucky a guy Shiki is. He gets to hang around the babelicious Arcueid, is protected by his senpai Ciel (who also got the hots for him) and is served by the loyal/submissive/kawaii Hisui. I’m jealous Plenty of character development but the plot doesn’t seem to be moving much. Hope they quicken the pace a little. They only have 7 more eps left.
