Josh on Phantom Ending
Sometimes it's great to throw out some bones of contention and crumbs of ambiguity for fandom to chew over but Josh's Four Questions illustrates how this Uncertainty Gap was much too wide. As such, even after ruminating over it for weeks, I still think Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom's ending was not great, just ok.
BTW my SRS answers are Q1: Yes, Q2: One of McGwire's goons, Q3: No, Q4: N/A.
Phantom ~ Requiem for the Phantom 1-10
Bee Train pair of assassins story without yuri? Pass! At least that was my initial reaction to the news of this series. But if Kabitzin can forgive Bee Train, I'm certainly willing to give it a try. Though there's a small part of me that is waiting for Bee Train - having serenaded us with I Can Change - to, once again, start drinking, slap Kabitzin around, delve into extended flashbacks and play musical box tracks again and again and again.
So far it's been a fun ride, mostly because I like how the Reiji x Ellen relationship has been developed. Also LOL at Claudia McCunnen's Zwei Assassin Management methods. I wonder what Catbert would say? I just keep thinking, based on that kiss in the End of Evangelion, that Misato should have tried the McCunnen Method on Shinji from the moment she brought him home. BTW when McCunnen does it, it's seductive. When Scythe Master does it, it's called sexual harrassment. I certainly wouldn't have minded if she had tried it on Ellen too.
