GSC 1/7 Saber Lily ~ Evening Star
Final installment of my Saber Lily Sunday shoot. In contrast to the late morning shoot where the sun was already well overhead, the evening sun was shining in at a much more acute angle. No shadow over the face but throwing stronger shadows behind as a result.
GSC 1/7 Saber Lily ~ Afternoon Break
Last Sunday was basically Saber Lily ~ Distant Avalon Day. It rained heavily in the afternoon but I was planning to try an indoor shoot anyway. Lesson Number One: You can never have too many lights [but only if they are all the same type to avoid white balance problems]. Indoor lighting just doesn't give an image the same richness as diffused morning/evening sunlight. I basically conscripted every movable light (and broke one in the course of doing of so. orz) Lesson Number Two: It can be surprisingly dusty in what seems like a clean room. I often had to stop halfway and use the little rubber blower to remove some errant piece of dust just floated by and then just happily attached itself to the lens. After a while, I just gave up. GSC 1/7 Saber Lily ~ Morning Blue
Having enjoyed Marion Zimmer Bradley's The Mists of Avalon, I've always found the notion of Saber as King Arthur to be faintly ridiculous. But the richness of TYPE MOON's re-imagined mythology (including Rin x Saber), the power of the Ayako Doctrine and the unlimited fanworks (my all-time favourite being the Pregnant Servants doujin). I have no clue what's the story behind this latest Saber but GSC has certainly done a Good Job.
Rin/Saber Forever
Got this beautiful piece of concept art from danbooru. First saw it on aurabolt's banner.
While the game story purist in me was somewhat disappointed in the anime adaptation of Fate/Stay Night, the yuri fanboy in me was in COMPLETE AND UTTER DESPAIR after the anime neutered the famous Rin x Saber HCG scene. ?(????)
