[Hontou Ni 4koma] Ruined for Loli
When Author said that Nanoha, or more precisely, Fate, had ruined him for anime (oh wait it was the other way around), I couldn't help but imagine him curled up in bed weeping, with FEITO seated beside him blithely smoking a cigarette...
BTW what's the etymology of "ruined for marriage"? Is it as recent as the K-ON! fansub (which group?), which translated Mio's お嫁にいけない as such instead of the more literal (and frankly, much more boring) "I can't become a bride"?
P.S. Readers with long memories with recall that the above 4koma is the back story for the anecdote cited in one of *the* most popular posts in Hontou ni Taihen desu.

On the ruined for marriage thing: I remember that it was used in one of the fansubs for Haruhi S1. Something Mikuru says after Haruhi has her way with her. I forget exactly what Mikuru said, but I remember thinking the translation was clever.

Thanks Duncan. I completely forgot about that! The fansub group was probably afk iirc. Though I wonder if the phrase itself was a homage to a still earlier series?
