Summary:

Meme tells Hitagi to return at midnight after a cold shower and changing into clean clothes at home where she lives with her divorced father. Koyomi is between heaven and hell as Hitagi gives him special service, prancing around in the nude and then in her underwear all the while insulting him. She has difficulty wearing clothes because, given she is almost weightless, they are too heavy. If his help works out, she invites him to eat crabs with her in Hokkaido. Because they are delicious.

Meme majored as a priest in university but does not work in a shrine. As Hitagi's crab is a god, they will pray to it instead of exorcising it; being a sketchy lot, it find it hard to refuse the sincere prayers of humans. Meme asks Hitagi about her most painful memory; she hurt her mom's cult superior when he attempted to rape her and her mom was punished. With that, the crab god is successfully summoned but it rushes her and starts to crush her. Meme puts his foot down but Hitagi stops him. She beseeches the crab god to give back her ties to her mother (which she previously asked to be cut); by the logic of punnery, her weight is returned. Koyomi sees a different side to Hitagi but experiences collateral weight gain.

Reaction:

Fan service can be hit or miss but the extended fan service of the first half was definitely oooh baby hit me one more time! Perhaps sarcastic asides do make all things better. 'Virginity is contagious.' 'Then call the verbal violence police.' LOL Hitagi certainly has got good reasons to be proud of her hot bod and certainly follows the advice of flaunting it since she's got it.

We also got into Hitagi's backstory and, though the crab motif was ripe for STD jokes, I was really touched by how her desire to regain her weight was really how she want her thoughts and memories about her mother back, even though they were really painful - even though, as Meme observed, getting them wouldn't change anything. But she is confident that things will get better as nothing does not change - she has found Koyomi, forthrightly asking for his forgiveness and his friendship. Besides her beauty and her wit, Hitagi also impressed with me with her positive character. What a great role by Chiwa Saitou!
