hontou ni Stripey Insists Sisters Cry Oniichan Now

Aeroplane and Cumulonimbus

Yes, it'd be nice if things can move on. But to those who are crying bloody murder, Mr T will retort on my behalf LOL; good grief, for most of us, this is free entertainment. And, guess what, KyoAni and Kadokawa will do whatever they want to do as long as they think their Japanese customers will continue to fork out the dough for it.

No surprises that I agree largely with Michael when he said:

That direction nailed the mood and feel of EE 4 perfectly. The episode was easily my favorite yet of the Endless Eight arc. But we had to go through those past iterations in order to get here emotionally. For me, that's worth it. The inner-artist in me is blown away by this move.

Except, in my case, please find and replace 'inner-artist' with 'Yuki fanboy'.

All hail RP's completionism. I do enjoy and appreciate the clarity of his reasoning:

Anyway, I liked the more tense atmosphere and the more bizarre background music. But I don’t like how they keep building things up like there’s going to be something different, and then ending it on the same note as the previous episodes.

The tension and discordant notes and Yuki's increasingly obvious weariness were all positives for me. Nobody likes being led on but I'm still able to excuse this as 'building up tension' - for now anyway. The bettin' money seems to be on eight iterations.

I am curious about the plane and cloud symbolism. Which may just be a red herring tossed out to the ravenous fanbase. So far, in the blogs I've surveyed, only Nutcase23 offers a theory. I've not seen the series he links the symbolism to but am curious to know if others agree or disagree.

Well, my own completionism is to keep blogging this series as long as there's new Yuki footage. orz

  1. I think I see it!

And really, I agree with the first quoted. From what’ve read so far on blogs, each episode of endles eight hasn’t ben all that ‘repeat’.

But I don’t know how much those guys think Haruhi stupid is! Her expressions/moods seem to change in each of the endles eight episodes. But it might just be my eyes decieving me! me is guessing dat she knows/feels/ that something ain’t right yo!

Damn! With every episode I fee like I want to watch the new Haruhi right nao!

    Continue resisting I must!

Oh how I want to save Yuki. I know it wouild be as simple as killing Kyon off but….but…I won’t be as stupid as Ryoko.

Damnit man, do your…whatever or else!

  2. I atill find it amasing how much one can read just from Yuki’s eyes. In most of these screenshots she looks down and depressed. The normal stoic “alien” look in her eyes replaced with something far more human.

Then in a few shots she’s back to “normal” nuetral look in her eyes.

But in a few scenes she actually looks interested in things. Curious even. Her looking at the telescope, the insect, just before going after her mask.

She also has one more that I can’t identify…when the girls are all showing off their new clothes…her expression is different than nomral. Maybe it is just a between frame or something.

  3. Her expression when shes turns around after Kyon calls to her is a work of sheer brilliance. She looks completely exhausted yet somehow gratified by his concern, presuming I’m reading her mouth right. It was actually quite hard to make out from the video.

  4. I thought all you guys read the light novels after being forced to wait 3 or so years for the second season. Is this not part of the novels or is it being done differently? I’m still trying to collect my thoughts currently. I might try to watch all the EE’s so far one right after another and see if that sparks anything.

  5. Actually, when I first posted about Ep5 for Haruhi, I noticed that Nagato is getting increasingly tired of the whole thing. While I didn’t take that into much consideration, one of the commenters had pointed out something important to me. (I’m not sure if I’m allowed to link here, so check out the link titled “cloud symbolism” in the post.)

I’ve read the novel before, and this is part of the next epic arc where everything goes haywire (in a sense) in the series. I’m sure those who’ve read the Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi would know what I’m talking about.

However, regardless of what’s going to happen next, the amount of episodes that are allocated to us is actually quite little and it doesn’t feel right to dedicate 4 episodes just for one single chapter.

  6. I’m just lovin’ how fellow Yuki fanboys are getting so much out of so little expression. I was also quite touched by the pregnant pause before she declared this iteration as 15,513.

    NA~GA~TOOOOOOOOO!!!

  7. I dunno the validity of the rumor I heard but it says that there will be two more episodes of endless eight. Apparently, Kadokawa ordered 6 endless episodes to be animated. When they showed it to their sponsors, they were understadably furious. As a scapegoat, Kadokawa fired one of their producers but by then it was already too late. Kyoani had already animated it. Discussions are still going on whether they should extend the number of episodes this season. I have the link of the rumor in my post at my site, check it out there if you’d like. We will probably know if the rumor is true this week.
