The Boredom of Nagato Yuki

Those of us who have already been spoiled via the light novel translations were probably smiling wryly to ourselves last week. But I do wonder if the feeling of realization by the unspoilt, back-pedalling on cries of filler WRT the previous episode, would have been sweeter; I still remember my surprised delight, after the 'WTF is this?' reaction to The Adventures of Mikuru. Though KyoAni probably expects that its primary audience has already been already spoilt rotten - as one of those, I have really enjoyed the execution of the contrast over a three episode arc thus far.

The beefiness of Kyon and the fabulousness of Itsuki seems to have gone way up in this episode. RP, Calawain, Orion, Minnie et al love the yaoi fan teasing and 'your face is too close' gag.
Though Haruhi also did well in the sexual harassment game with her own face is very close insertion just before she mounted Kyon from behind on his bike and then pranced about, flaunting her figure in that swimsuit (oh love that flappy skirt bottom). Kyon even melted somewhat when Haruhi was all ode to joy for the frog costume. And actually seemed pissed off when Itsuki joked about confessing to Haruhi. Kyon x Haruhi might be an odd couple but I do like their dynamics a lot.

WRT the issue of repetition and variation, IIRC the gang did discover the repetition several times but did not manage to solve it; Yuki made no report of it in this episode though. Was the discovery during the 15,498th loop canonical?
But, for me, the real star is, of course, long-suffering Yuki. When she said: "I see" in that ever so slightly downcast way after Kyon asked her if she was doing well, I - like him - just felt crushed by the weight of that unknowing disappointment. And when she said, matter-of-factly and with just a trace of tiredness, that her job was to observe, I was roiled with sorrow and anger at the helplessness of being unable to help her. Oh the agony and ecstasy of Yuki moé!

Count me as one of them :p I was a bit suspicious after absolutely nothing happened in the last episode (#2 I suppose), but I just shrugged it off. Since I’m not really all that excited or focused on Haruhi, I guess I just kinda forgot, until I watched the next episode.

So, her eyes are blue (or is it the ‘Uh Oh!’ face?)
It’s is difficult to tell with the eye designs in this series.
They all look gold/golden brown to me!
Ah, poor Yuki!
Not even an artificial Inteliigence on the level of gods can go through the same thing over 10000 times and not get fed up.
I better get her to relax more in my fic (Which I am working on again BTW Hehehe – You heard it first)
I am going to wait until at least we are half way through to start watching S2. In the mean time, I am gonna go back to the novels and bask in my Haruhi/Yuki S-T.
Now that my Michael Jackson blues are not so high, taimu to get back into things…
But first, I am gonna tackle that Haruhi vector that everyone avoided like the plague…

After almost 600 years of repeating the same couple of weeks over and over again, it wouldn’t be surprising if Yuki ends up breaking.

IIRC it’s the effect of Endless Eight on Yuki that triggers the events of Disappearance. For that alone, I’ll consider this arc Good Job!
