Petit Eva ~ Evangelion@School 1-9

No need for subs to watch Puchi Eva - because there is no dialogue! (Well, maybe just for the titles of each clip.) First clip is Lunch Time where Unit One aka Evanchou (the banchou of the school orz) and Shinji exchange lunches, loved the way the former arrived on scene. Which culminates in Shinji having to excrete batteries. Don't try this at home, kids!

Cleaning time with inspection by Principal Gendou! Except the kids (except Rei) just want to fool around with Clean Up Class Baseball. When the door is closed. Polarity gets reversed though.

P.E. Class has the four leads dancing a cute number. The CG was so fluid that I couldn't help but think of the animators and studios making muscleman poses and shouting I AM INVINCIBLE. Somehow it always brings a smile to my face when I see Asuka oppressing Shinji with her foot. Thus while I'm was and still am a Reihead, I'm Shinji x Asuka shipper.

Shinji dozes off in class. Misato-sensei throws chalk. A lot of chalk. Another LOL Look At My CG POWAH clip with Matrix homages. LOLOLOL at Asuka being buried under a pile of chalk.

Rei passes a note to Shinji in class. But it's not what he hoped it'd be. But she's still embarrassed nonetheless. As the official cast list description for Rei goes: She's silent but it seems that she likes Shinji. I know what I just said but Shinji x Asuka x Rei love triangle in this universe is just fab.

Both Shinji and Evanchou try to pick up Rei. The compromise is... quite ingenious. Though Asuka charges in to spoil the party.

This is the flip side of the Classroom cleaning clip. It turns out that Principal Gendou was more concerned about how to present a bouquet of flowers to Rei. I know Everyone Loves Rei but this was Kimura Komoi. The creepiness and Gendou's love-struck silliness just gattai-ed into pure awesomeness. Of course, he gets caught in the act. BTW Ikari Yui is well and alive in this universe.

Flip side of the PE clip. Kensuke's filming of Asuka is hijacked by Gendou who focus on, who else, Rei. But Misato arrives and deals her brand of violent and terrible justice. Peeking and filming without permission is a crime!

Flip side of the bicycle clip. Shinji and Evanchou had tried to pick Asuka up first and we're treated to some classic Asuka - tsundere before tsundere was popularised and merged with moé. Surprisingly she wasn't that pissed off by the two of them abandoning their attempts to woo her the moment they spotted Rei; let's just say a book can be a dangerous object too. I get the vague feeling that the above clip was from the original series itself but can't remember the exact content. But this clip also gave me the feeling that this team has got a lot of Asuka-love.

The first nine clips were really fun and enjoyable (who's the production studio? The listing seems to have disappear off Bandai Chanel and I can't figure it out from the moon language of the credits). Despite all my bellyaching about Evangelion fan exploitation, I would so love to see this universe animated in the original style and voiced by the crew that we've come to know, love and tear our hair out over. So much comic potential! There's another 11 clips (about 50 mins total) that follows this which is produced by XEBEC. It's... seriously weird but still enjoyable. It's not going to be so easy to summarize though so might take a while more to get it done.
