K-ON 4

Because you two are such a couple.

Oh, look at how you play mind games with each other.

Though it seems that only Mio likes to get physical.

And if you think Ritsu was bad, just wait till Mio meets Captain Haddock.

There it is again!
(clue: third screencap above)
Oh how I loved this type of thing in the closing moments of the final You're Under Arrest! OVA. :3

Verily Ritsu recalls Chibi Sei's insult against Chibi Eriko X Pani Poni X's Special Move.

This Yui moment has been brought to you by BLUE HAWAII X BALSAMIC VINEGAR.

You win for the Tintin reference. :3
And did you see anything that might make you think of Mio x Yui perhaps?

Ten thousand thundering typhoons, TheBigN, you are the win for getting the reference!
I wonder if kids even read Tintin these days. P-:
I don’t really see anything wrt Mio x Yui. Yes, Mio touches Yui here and there but she behaves completely very normally. I’m not getting any yuri vibes or signals such as going berserk on the object of interest (indicates a level of comfort and ownership) or being very shy towards the object of interest (fear of being caught/rejected) or a mix of two (tsundere).

Kids only read Tintin in French class nowdays (as a part of the curriculum too, I might add), I am afraid. So which one is the reference? Blue hawaii?
April 27th, 2009 - 09:26
Ah, that’s such a pity. The reference is the link to Captain Haddock since one of his favourite curses involves barnacles. Lots of barnacles.
Blue Hawaii (and balsamic vinegar) are a Lucky Star reference. Former was kind but not too bright Tsukasa’s only general knowledge mastery moment in the series. And balsamic vinegar. Well, balsamic vinegar! Hehe~

I thought it was usually blistering barnacles. Also bashi-bazouks, whatever those are.

Ottoman irregular soldiery in the 1800s, IIRC. Like most irregular soldiery (AKA Tupac Armies), not very nice people.
Anyway, I used to own a pretty complete Tintin collection once but gave it away to relatives’ kids. The whole run is still prominently stocked in the major bookstores over here however, accompanied by interesting accompanying works such as one book which with religious zeal compiles Haddock’s verbose curses and explains the meaning of all the big or plain obscure words he uses…
Then again, not too long ago someone also compiled an useful booklet on “German according to Commando Comics“, complete with dry caveats about not trying to communicate with *real* Germans with it…

Maybe the forthcoming Spielberg-directed Tintin movie might spark a revival.
And LOL Watchman, your first line just reminded me of the conversation between Father Pedobear and Kanako in the final episode of Maria+Holic. (Where she’s trying to tell him that he’s causing her to hive but her babbling just gets over-interpreted as some of obscure trivia.)

Father Pedobear is my homeboy.

Oh how I hate Yui – There’s no way she got that good in the space of 3 months with her work ethic and being a general failure at everything…
If she becomes awesome I must kill her to set the balance right
Mio for lead guitar!

Mio and Ritsu totally have a minor SM thing going.
Also, Yui and Ritsu naturally operate on the same wavelenght to an awesome degree. (MOE MOE KYUN <3) Poor Mio has her work cut out for her herding those two lolcats…

Hey, don’t hate Yui. She’s awesome.
There’s a lot of people that’s just like her. I know many.
I love Yui and her airheadness. There is all kinds of personality in the club.
Mugi=Elegant and nice
Mio=Mature and cool, yet sensitive
Yui= Airhead
Ritsu= Energetic
That’s what makes things more interesting in a club.
Just like what Mugi said; she wanted to join the club so she could meet people that are rare. Like rare animals. And there she has it. Different personalities.
