Hayate no Gotoku!! 3

Which is why pre-emptive strikes aren't always a good idea.

The Heroine to the rescue!
At this point, she's probably not doing this because she likes Hayate but (1) guilty about cutting him off earlier and (2) Hina does have a bit of a Hero complex (i.e. she likes being the Hero LOL).

One of the perks of being the main Heroine is being able to expropriate the best items! In the manga, even Wooden Murasame has Hinagikuism, IIRC it was so happy with Hina that it would allow her to summon it literally out of thin air and the Saginomiya family would be wondering where it's disappeared to.

Before the dere, comes the tsun. Even if she doesn't know it yet.

She's got dah powah!! My favourite scene of this episode/chapter and I always think of this as a parody of Evangelion, particularly that scene in Death and Rebirth when that JSDF guy is shouting over the comms about Unit 02's cable as Asuka goes about her merry rampage.

Heroine comes to the rescue again! Man, this never gets old.

And the real star of this series!

Who also GET the object of the original quest!
I'm been well pleased with the amount of Hina screen time we've been getting thus far. Though I wonder how many episodes they'll take to cover all the ground right to Hina's birthday arc.

Nazarielle: Based on the next episode title, you’ll get alot of Maria next time.
Zyl: The funny thing is that before the bridge incident, Hina didn’t even QUALIFY as tsundere. She was very open and honest about her feelings and barely showed any tsun before. However, in this episode she finally delves into the pond of tsunderes, and we can even identify it in her speech: While talking to Nagi, she talked normally about “Hayate-kun”, while she singed him with a death glare (the nastiest EVER seen from her) and switched to “Ayasaki-kun”, fervently denying any intention of helping him (which we know is completely untrue).
So, it was clearly Hayate who turned her into a Tsundere. And from now on, she’ll never really lose this trait anymore ^_^;
And well – the time till her birthday arc: That is still pretty much far out. 5 more episodes at least, I’d say. Particularly the vital “lost kittens” arc with Hayate, Hamster and Shiranui will take some time, and we haven’t even touched the Valentine Day arc yet (ep04).

@ Nazareille
Out of sight = out of mind? Is that why fan art and fanfics are so handy?
@ Mentar
The tsunderation of Hina. Hmmm… now that you point it out, it’s definitely Hayate’s fault and a recent thing too. She’s always been so straight forward, recovering quickly after the outburst of pervert! after Hayate snatched her tie in the Butler tournament. Struggling after Hayate rescued her from her tree fall wasn’t so much tsundere as embarrassment at being the one to be saved for once (or twice)?

Well… my point is that “tsundere” in my understanding has to imply that the girl in question needs to be “masking” her true feelings, i.e. acting particularly negative (usually out of embarrassment) while actually feeling something different. Not what has caused a flood of faux-tsundere declarations, when a girl merely shows both anger and sweetness at the same time.
Hina has a temper, and she’s quick to show it. However, in the past, she’s always been very straightforward about it. When she’s angry, she shows it. When she’s playful or happy, she shows it. But she’s been honest. Now, with Hayate, for the first time ever she’s beginning to mask. In revenge mode, she’s roasting him over the fire, even though she’s perfectly willing to still help him out. And when she does, she lies about it, claiming that she’d never dream of doing that. THIS is the “tsundere” aspect I was talking about.
