the faces of Uchida

Sweet, sour, spicy and bitter LOL. I've mentioned previously how much I enjoy Uchida screentime. In Okaeri, I'm happy to say that she's still Got It.

While she's not as outwardly broken as, say, Mako-chan or Touma, Uchida embodies a nice balance between OTT WTFBBQ humour (best represented by Hosaka) and Slice Of Life humour (food, homework, household jokes). And, like the others, she just keeps coming back for MOAR.
P.S. Matthew feels the Uchida love too.
When some episodes of Minami Ke are criticized as 'not funny' I suspect that the viewer is looking for the former kind of humour. But that perspective probably misunderstands the nature of the series. For me, the charm of the series comes from how wry observations about things from everyday life are given an added spice from how the idiosyncrasies of the Minami sisters ripple through their circles of influence.
