Had been waiting for the Kara no Kyoukai OSTs to appear on Amazon.jp for ages. I might as well have been waiting for Godot. Only recently slowpoke.jpg realized, via canta per me, that the OSTs were only available with the DVDs.

I've bought Limited Edition DVDs before but this is the first time that I wanted the extra more than the DVD itself (my favourite so far is Paradox Spiral); I really enjoy the above-mentioned (post title) track so much - it's the BGM for the kick-off for the Shiki vs Fujino battle on the bridge and it's been replaying endlessly on my Winamp.

And I wouldn't have bought the R2 DVD of the third movie, Remaining Sense of Pain (????), if I hadn't already downloaded the fansub. Kara no Kyoukai's dialogue is really difficult to follow raw - to my ears, it's comparable almost (but not quite yet) to Ghost in the Shell in terms of level of difficulty.

Given my extremely limited listening comprehension, I'm now asking myself what possessed me to buy the first of The Garden of Wanderers and The Garden of Listeners drama CD series. And it's probably because I judged the CDs by their covers - they look hilarous! Would appreciate any pointers to other blogs and forums that discuss them.

  1. I hate OSTs that is bundled in limited edition DVDs :_>

  2. LOL! The first thing that came up to my mind when I saw the title from your RSS Feed was one of the Kara no Kyoukai Soundtracks…
And indeed I was right about it. Hehe!
I became interested so I checked it out.

    Anyways…

You’re so lucky to be able to buy limited edition ones. T_T
Sadly my family can only afford the net plus I am still a student.

And sometimes I find it sad when they pack the DVD and OST together as a Limited Edition one.
But seems like it’s like a strategy to force out to emptying our pockets just to have the OST too. T_T Marketing strategy right?

Also do you happen to know if there are downloadable The Garden of Listeners and The Garden of Wanderers Drama CD from the net?
I tried as best as I can to find it, yet I couldn’t find one until now.

And also this was one of those memorable soundtracks I’ve heard from Kara no Kyoukai… One of my favorites too. ^_^

  3. General blog etiquette point – no asking about downloads. But in any case, no, I haven’t seen any torrents for the drama CDs.
