S$340 Hontouni economic stimulus package ~ Tinkle, Saber, MEGAMI saves Japan
I don't like to brag but I'm pretty sure my injection of S$400 into the Japanese economy (via artbook purchase) over last weekend, kept the 2nd biggest economy in the world from sinking into a full-blown financial meltdown. The Japanese now has Tinkle, MEGAMI and Saber to thank for the bailout.
Here's the breakdown of the rescue package -
Items 1-2 - Byakuya Chakai ~ Tinkle Illustration collection 2: S$260
Instead of electronic goods, Japan should export the one unique product that is not manufacturable elsewhere - Moe. It doesn't have to be eroge. Tinkle's benign artwork of scantily clad young girls lolita fashion is a fine example of how Moe could be exported WORLDWIDE to lift Japan out of deep recession.

Item 3 - Fate/Stay night ~ Saber Portraits: S$38
The Pound took a beating from the Yen with the debut of this artbook as the enterprising Japanese (14 illustrators to be exact) emasculated the once fable King of Avalon to become a maid, a Japanese high school girl, a bride and a glutton. Great artwork - The only best Saber picture collection there is.

Item 4 - Super MEGAMI Deluxe: S$38
Gakken took more than a page out of MacDonald's accounts to introduce their very own super-sized MEGAMI Deluxe. Like the upsized meal, the Super MEGAMI Deluxe triples your chances of getting heart-attack though not from cholesterol but moe-overload. More than 4 times thicker than the regular MEGAMI deluxe the super edition is available for only 1.5 times its price. A bargain no self-respecting 2D investor would miss out on.
And that's that for the artbook induced stimulus. Hoping the PVC market picks up too. Been dying to find an excuse to pump in more cash in the figure sector but the offerings have been lacklustered of late. (I blame figma and nendroid for the heretical development in the current PVC world.)

Soon you’ll realise that the stimulus package was not enough to motivate the Japanese economy thus requiring another stimulus package of even greater value.
Seeing two copies of Byakuya Chakai reminds me of how I have 3 copies of Nanao Naru’s works from C74,lol.

Ah, if only there were Fate/stay night Rin and/or Ilya portraits, I too might contribute to the stimulation~

For some reason, like Rei, Saber looks fabulous as a meido…

…Moe is not manufacturable outside Japan?

Void_Wizard : YES! Together we’ll lift the world out of the economic quagmire!
And you have great taste in artbooks!
Adun : Ah Nanao Naru’s C74 work? Must.resist.checking. it. out. XD The YJA plus a recent wedding (not mine) has wiped out my savings for the month. But if NN’s C74 work is anyway as substantial as Byakuya, MONEY IS NO ISSUE! (The problem is getting the approval to spend it
)
Nazarielle: There’s a cute pic of Saber cosplaying as Rin in this collection.
I’d love a Sakura compilation too.
Zyl : I suspect it’s the hair. Somehow it goes well with the goth component of lolita fashion which meido outfits is a subset of. Asuka looks good in sweet-lolitha fashion.

Sixten : Well, there has been so far ONE excursion in this part of the world and I married her. I don’t know how my in-laws managed it… XD

Well comparing Tinkle and Nanao Naru is like comparing apples and oranges. Though I would say that Byakuya is the clear winner. I can take some pics of NN’s C74 if you want and perhaps we could come to some arrangement (I have 3 copies after all so I can part with one)

ahhhhss A lot of good books there. I love TINKLE! wahhhs! It’s so expensive. I see the cheap prices that you listed on Yahoo Japan but then in the end with all the deputy service, does it really add up to $260 for 2 books? I’m planning on getting theeemm >_<” I asked that question in the other post but this post is more recent. ^___^

Zeroblade : Still want to land yourself a copy?
I’m trying to bring in some more Byakuya Chakai…
Adun: Thanks for the offer! I’ll check out Naru sensei’s C74 work and let you know if I’m keen
J: The deputy services aren’t that expensive actually. It’s the shipping (both internal and internationally) that’s the killer
But yeah it should be about $130 (Singapore dollars) subject to the deputy service you engage and the shipping fees.
