Cured of loli-Fate! – Volks M.O.E 1/7 Fate Testarossa PVC figure
The PVC deities, obviously disturbed by my deep obsession with 9 yr old Fate, have finally sent the antidote in the form of a 1/7 PVC figure of 19 yr old Fate Testarossa.
Still this could all be a very elaborate divine prank since the chances obtaining this magnificent work is low. A quick check with my regular and not-so-regular PVC sources revealed that possession will come at a great cost. One of the quotes I received was as high at 15000 yen (twice the amount I paid for Alter Hayate). And this was not the only hurdle. The quality of VOLKS PVC craftsmanship is also being called into question with their previous PVC releases not as impressive as their promo pics. According to a trusted source, while they are undoubtedly masters of the resin realm, they still need to play catch up in the PVC world. Given the uncertainty, should I still pour ALL my resources into acquiring her?
Man, I'd even sell 1/4 of my figure collection to get this beauty! Check out 2 more reasons to do so.
Beyond. gorgeous. Would this finally mark the end of the age of Loli-Fate on Hontou ni Taihen desu? Would I FINALLY complete StrikerS? Would it be Fate or frustration I find in Jul 09? Sigh, I fear that it'd the latter for that last question.

Looks good, but damn, seems like they’re taking the price to a whole new level. If they had a Kagami figure that looked as good, it’d be very hard for me to resist….

suguru: Actually the price is reasonable.
It’s being released in Japan for 8000 yen. The problem is it’s a Volks’ exclusive meaning it comes with a hefty premium since my conventional means of acquiring PVCs don’t stock Volks good

Cool! It looks nice. However, i dont really like the hands of Fate on this figure. The wierd metallic hand thing is really – not nice -. I nvr noticed it in the anime… I dont think its there.
I doubt i will buy it. The cost… OUCH!

Volks is infamous for their amazing coloring quality in coldcasts, so I assumed they would be amazing in PVC coloring but I guess that wasn’t the case. Anyways, that is one nice looking figure indeed.

But looking at the sculpt, I just can’t resist XD
muhootsaver: I checked out a few more sites reviewing Volk’s previous PVC releases, they ain’t looking so bad actually. From my observations, Volks have 4 rather prolific sculptors of which I only like one’s work and he happens to be sculpting for Hayate and Fate. My confidence is boosted once again!

That’s one tightly fitting outfit…. yeah, with the current yen/dollar suckage my budget this year for figures already sucks and its not even out of the gate.

I’m afraid it’s not my cup of tea. ^^; While the posing for Hayate/Fate is very nicely done, their body proportion has been exaggerated, and that is quite a turn off for me.
Not to mention the over-breaking of body physics.

Vexx: At least the yen has dropped from its “1000 yen to S$19″ peak. That was sheer madness XD I should finish the 2008 with 16 figures – 1 more than 2007.
