The lure of light-haired lolis – A lascivious lolicious list
I know it's blasphemous to exclude Nadesico's Ruri (who is believed to be the mother of all light haired lolis) from this list but my overflowing love for Anzu compels me. (Yes, I fully enjoyed DCIISS ep 02.)
Light haired lolis (LHLs) have a special place in my heart. If an anime character is light haired (and by that I means shades of grey, white to light blue) and lolicious, chances are she'd one of my favourite characters in the show. (The irritating Ibuki from Happiness is an extreme exception.) Light haired lolis exude an off-worldly charm. Where the archetype used to be confined to the Rei-esque (Evangelion) personality, this delicious character template has advanced to all planes of loliciousness. Now we have mature but tragic LHLs, non-human LHLs, moelicious LHLs and even a psychopathic LHL.
Without further ado, here's presenting my favourite 15 LHLs in no particular order of love.
Rudiger Beatrix, Emelenzia (Megadere) - One of the 2 reasons to watch the series. Siscon is the other.
Asukuuru (Kiddy Grade 2) - 2 mins of preview; 2 years of love and still going strong.
Gretel (Black Lagoon) - One of my greatest anime dreams - A picnic with Gretel.
Ilya (Fate/Stay night) - I'll be her Berserker anytime!
Tsukishiro Alice (DCSS) - Need an Alice OVA!
Kirihara Kiraha (Kagihime) - She is not only an esteeemed LHL, she epitomises siscon.
Anju Maaka (Karin) - In my top 10 imouto list.
Sugintou (Rozen Maiden) - I love junk!
Primula (SHUFFLE!) - Section 376.... section 376... section 376....
Kazahana Mashiro (Mai HiME) - She's on all my lists, ain't she?
Yukimura Anzu (Da Capo II) - The inspiration of this entry!
Shirogane Sara/Soujou (Futakoi Alternative) - If my wife girls were as enlightened as them...
Mochida Hinako (Myself; yourself) - Once loli, always loli.
Hinoto (X TV) - Moeliciously blind and lolicious. Loved the way she says "ware ware wa.."
Yin (Darker than Black) - Moeliciously blind and lolicious 2! Loved the way erm she's silent.
I'm sure I missed out someone but this old tanuki brain falters. Looking forward to Code Geass R2's Chinese Federation LHL to join their ranks.

It’s interesting how long white hair on loli girls usually indicates the character is cute, often sickly, and possibly emotionally stunted, but on dudes it means EVIL (but usually slick and bishie).

No Ruri = full of fail and lose.
SD2 Butterfly Bombs will be dropped at strategic locations along all avenues of approach to your home. Once your legs are blown off you too will be loli you disrespectful tanuki. This will be but the beginning of you punishment for arbitrarily excluding Ruri-sama. An Aestevalis squadron will be there shortly to break all of your anime DVDs and confiscate all of your figures. Yes you will have to watch. Such will be the price for your refusal to make it a list of 16.
As for your life well we shall let Nauzron decide your fate…

As for Nauzaron, I suggest the Fubuki-from-Kamen-no-Maid-Guy or Higurashi route: bloody, nail-filled bat discipline. Maybe delivered by killer lolis…. which includes Satoko. “Gomennasaigomennasaigomennasai!”

Stripey, I know this is random, but since you buy Taiwan DVDs, I wanted to ask where I can buy Taiwan R3 DVDs. I know JSDVD and Yesasia have them, but yesasia, I can’t find the product I want, and JSDVD’s pricing (16% sale) doesn’t seem too great. (unless Taiwanese Dvds don’t go on sale too often like R2) Where do you order yours? Or do you just buy them from local shops?

I enjoyed watching Hinako in MSYS, too bad she hadn’t got much character development that I had expected. And yah, LHLs really hit the moe spot.
