Minami Ke Okawari 1
The wave of excitement over Minami Ke's second helping is palpable and I'm happy to conform to the general consensus. Before the literature review, just a note to say that I actually prefer asread's chara design for Hayami-senpai, hope we'll see some more crazy yuri antics from her soon!

And speaking of which, Hayami-senpai's volleyball top reminds me of Misato's uniform...
Kurogane (whose posts had seduced me to catch this series): '...the art was actually rather crappy, but the humor was actually pretty awesome. Haruka-neesama continues to accumulate more love from me...' Haruka-neesama banzai! Motto sugoi wa ne~~
53RG10: 'Okawari retains the same comedic values as the first Minami-ke!! ^_^' Given how the first cour has built a foundation of familiarity, it's great to see that Okawari's humour hits the ground running.
CanYouMoe?: 'With the "essence" comedy still there, first season fans will not be disappointed.' I also liked how Chiaki's background turns greyscale when she's thinking.
Totali, High Warlord of Commenting: 'One word: Awesome.' But not AWESOME in the jpmeyerian sense? LOL

deftoned: 'Minami-ke with less Ninomiya-kun!!/Sensei!! and Black Bible [eyes]' Maybe there'll be a Sensei to Ninomiya-kun Okawari (with black car). Were the eyes really that Bible Black? But guess I wasn't paying to the eyes when fapping to watching that series. Ahaha~~
suguru: '...while there's an onsen scene with some fanservice, we're not talking anything like the Asa-senpai wardrobe malfunction at the beach.' Asa-senpai beach wardrobe malfunction banzai!!!
The gender-bending pair is still full of love and LOL. It'd be really weird and funny if they get paired up romantically though. And I still can't believe that's Nana Mizuki!!
Well, at least Fujioka didn't have the same reaction to half-nekkid Mako-chan that Klaus had to Nekomimimode Hayate.
For me, asread's signature work thus far is SHUFFLE! and has been pointed at suguru's dame dame and CanYouMoe? they seem to have particular stylistic elements like fan service, talking heads etc. The Touma facial close-up also reminded me of Krazy Kaede facial close-up and Rin's horrified facial close-up (just before Primula asks: 'Nani playing?') in SHUFFLE! Memories 12.
Fujioka, what's wrong with you, boy? You look like L.A. after Ellis decides to go El Cazador de la Nadie! Shouldn't it be happy fappy time?
Poor Uchida! What a way to end with a bang!

I love the Touma/Mako-chan group, if only for the opportunities for breaking it allows like what happened with Fujioka. The figures… well, they screwed up – Haruka’s practically Mai Tokiha-class now if not a bit more, and even Kana, whose flat chest was the butt of a joke in the first season (Chiaki finds her skirt’s waistline too loose but the chest fits ‘just right’) is.. well, played up for fanservice here. Between that and how Kana refused to acknowledge Mako-chan without the hairclip… ah, bliss.

I loved mu Black Bible eyes and everything old better.
Those expressions were priceless..
I honestly don’t think they can pull them off with these chara designs though.

They didn’t completely lose the Bible Black Faces – look at how Chiaki reacts when she goes into ‘emo’ mode. They DID screw up the girls’ design some, though. At the same time, I will admit to breaking out into a Hosaka-style laugh after Fujioka’s brain broke.
