Lucky Star BGM and Radio Program 6
At last! My favourite background music track of the Lucky Star canon has finally been released. It first ran as Konata was giving her 'intelligent and passionate' briefing to Kagamin and Tsukasa in Episode 12 about how to go about buying doujins at Winter ComiKet. Thus, the track is appropriately entitled: 'The Battle Ground of Ariake'. Absolutely love the drums, trumpets, and synthesizer layered upon each other and building up to a crescendo.
Lucky Star, in general, and Episode 12, in particular, inspired me to make my first ever trip to attend Comic Market and it was even great mental preparation for the crowds and SOPs at ComiKet 72. And it looks like I'm not the only one to have been inspired. Fellow LS fan, Hirito, heading off to / arriving in Tokyo for ComiKet 73 from 29-31 December 2007. While I doubt that we're going to see Lucky Star's contribution to tourism and Japanese international soft power recognized along the lines of the ANA Pokemon Boeing 747, hope springs eternal. What theme would you have your plane painted with if you had your own personal Anime Force One?
Having just rewatched Ep 12, I found myself wondering: 'Why did Kagami accompany Konata to ComiKet a second time even though she professed to hate the first experience so much?' One explanation would be to take care of Tsukasa but that doesn't quite make sense as she could have just warned her twin sister off, like the way she did for Miyuki. But Tsukasa's earnest innocent enthusiasm also has a way of getting to her oneechan, as with the participation in the cheer dance in Ep 24.
The other, which I favour, is encapsulated in one of the lines of 100% Nai Nai Nai where Kagami sings that she 'accompanies Konata to buy suspicious goods' to get her best friend to cheer up. As such, a combination of the above factors with the former as the tsun, explicit reason and the latter as the dere, tacit reason could explain the outcome. :3
Together with 'Filna Fatansy', 'Bun Guster', 'Konata's Theme - India Version' of the fifth release and 'Gravity' as well as 'Gyaaaaaaaaa' of the third release forming chocolate sponge and fudge of the OST cake, 'Senjou no Ariake' is my cherry on the top!

Tsukasa’s innocent enthusiasm for her first Comiket experience was akin to the adorable deer brightly illuminated in the headlights of a truck. It’s going to get messy, but one cannot look away.
My favourite track will still be the first album’s “Ran Ran Ran dayo, Lucky Star” (something about the simple piano/guitar and trumpet rhythm, also heard in Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya’s “Itsumo no Fuukei”, always gets to me deep down), but I have to admit that whenever I play my MMORPG of choice (City of Heroes), I always fire up “Filna Fatansy” for the atmosphere, Just Because.

Gravity needs to be a longer song; it’s too awesome.
