Shakugan no Shana Second 6

Come on, guys and gals, it wasn't that boring. Or if it was, that wasn't to be unexpected - the first season was pretty draggy at the start, Shana was plenty annoying too, Yuuji was also super thick blah blah blah. But I'm still lapping it all up for Shana-tan Second no tameni! And keenly anticipating the arrival of Phellis. :3

Margery was very oneesama, and therefore WIN, with her a-do-vice to Oga-chan and Kazumi 'Lamp post' Yoshida. Certainly that's suitable for their age. Though if this continues to drag on to Shakugan no Shana Fourth, then this song by Sting/The Police would be more appropriate. But you had better make sure it works before she gets a restraining order against you. Persistence and consistency are the key! ;)

My absolute favourite moment in this episode was when everyone gives Yuuji the Stare of Death when they realize how delicious Yoshida's cooking is and how he (by extension, Fumina) has been enjoying that luxury every day. Still, the lack of success of Yoshida's strategy proves that in aiming for Yuuji's stomach, she is aiming too low.

  1. I’m kinda hoping he discovers Wilhemina’s charms, the way things are going, so Shana and Yoshida can do something other than just sit there and grumble about his denseness. :P

  2. That would pave the way for some SERIOUS emo!

  3. But it would have meido in it. Which is probably more entertaining than what’s been going on the past two episodes; heck, he’s seeing more of Wilhemina than he has of Shana the past month.

  5. Owen S: Striker S -was- pretty bad up until the halfway mark, IMO, and only in the last few eps did things really pick up. So far, I’m disappointed by the lack of the ‘action’ that Wilheimina promised during the last Shanatan Special before this series’ arrival. And by the way that they went from Tonagura fighting, and the relationship that Yuuji and Shana had developed, to this indecisive love triangle situation.

You’d have thought that Yuuji would’ve been aware of Shana’s feelings by now, and would’ve given him the idea that she might be upset at his near-complete lack of attention to her.

  6. To add to my previous post, it’s pretty much like they’re ignoring the second half of the first season (minus the Hecate bit), which makes me wonder why they bothered airing it at all… which may be to make sure that Hecate and Bel Peol and Wilheimina got some screen time.

  7. re: Wilhelmina x Yuuji – that’d just be like the Hayate no Gotoku dynamic. Oh, that’s Kumigiya Rie too! LOL

Owen S, not just StrikerS but also Lucky Star where lots of bloggers complained about the first episode, declared it ‘Sucky Star’ and decided the drop the series but ended up watching them all the way anyway. ‘Tsundere boners!’

SnS has always been a bit of a silly show for me so my expectations were low. Doesn’t rank high for rewatchability either – I deleted the first season as soon as it was over. But if there was a Shana-tan omake DVD collection, ah that’s something I would buy! :)

  8. Sometimes I think of Shakugan no Shana as a test to see if you are worthy of receiving Shana-tan omakes. Only the strong survive.
