Numbers created this way are made to mimic the original base as closely as possible; a process which grants them the original user’s IS. In her case this is her gold tint Wingroad / Breakliner

It’s not really confirmed, but her original base must have been Quint Nakajima

Perhaps Hayate’s motivations were covered in the anime already? But I’d love to hear more from her too. Partly because she’s voiced by the lovely and versatile Kana Ueda (Yumi from MariMite, Rin Tohsaka from Fate/Stay Night, Kurumi from PPD! etc).

If anyone can confirm or correct me on Track 15, it’d be really appreciated!

Perhaps they were setting up Nove to be Subaru’s rival (implied in the OP), so the character design department had their gear mirror each other? Turns out that Nove (with Deed and Wendi) face Teana as their nemesis instead.

I dunno, unless I’m mistaken Nove would be around the only one with direct “copyright infringement” armament. And you’d think Jail would then have ripped off Momma Nakajima’s “double fisted” pattern rather than her adoptive kids’ one-gloved approach…

Makes you wonder if he didn’t just have a kinda warped sense of humor instead (like he didn’t demonstrate quite a bit of such anyway…) and specifically designed Nove’s gear to mirror the errant ‘borg siblings – doubly so if at least Subaru and Nove indeed shared some kind of root design.

Or someone in the character design departement was having a slow week. -_-
