Zero no Tsukai-my-hearto! And a small tribute to J.C Staff
I can't believed I just marathoned 7 eps of Zero no Tsukaima off youtube. What a great ride! Sure, it feels a little like Shana in Hogswarts but it still oozes a unique charm that is greater than a mere marriage of the 2 series. Maybe I've missed her other works but it sure was GREAT to have Horie Yui finally in a meido role!!!!!! *teary eyes* (Checked off one life goal.) Siesta has just skyrocketed into the top 3 spots of my personal meido charts. What a beautiful personality! She has the warmth of Mahoro and the primp propriety of Hisui. (Incidentally these are No. 1 and 2 respectively on my meido charts.) Pity there isn't much of her after that dai pinch in ep 4. I'm soooo looking forward to a figure of this most wonderful meido...
And what.. what is this?! Lolicious tsundere in frilly waitress garb? Man, when Louise appeared in her black little no. at ep 7, I could have sworn I heard plummeting screams of "Moeeeee!!!" all around the globe. (I was on the ledge of my 11th storey window myself but when I remembered how my figures, especially the newly wedded acquired Feena, would become widows lonely, I withdrew.) It's really not so much of the very very beautiful outfit but her mixed response of bashfulness, failed pretense at nonchalance and the attempt to impress that was priceless. Indeed, Louise tops my personal anime tsunderekko charts now.
Having very recently enjoyed their Karin and Shakugan no Shana, ZnT has again heightened my love for J.C Staff. In this jaded age of animedom, when simple and well-executed stories are no longer popular, it's always great to enjoy coherent J.C Staff fare. The older hence sometimes louder in the fanbase would complain about current anime trends being predictable, shallow, rehashes of classics yada yada. So we have anime mammoths like SUNRISE responding to these demands with high density action/drama (include avant garde dual-fetishings) that end in trainwrecks because the plot inertia are too great for the limited airtime. (I'm still a SUNRISE fan nevertheless.) Ooooh but not J.C Staff. While driving the series with a simple but clear plot, J.C Staff productions reinforce their series with such great character charm that even on the slower eps, we continue to enjoy the cast's antics and root for their struggles. I've seen more than a few of this fine balance of story and character in their works (Karin/Shana/Honey&Clover) to know I'll be entertained come J.C Staff's next prodution. (Maburaho and Ikkitousen are forgotten articles of their misspent youth.)
Anyhow, like Kurogane, I wished I'll be summoned to bishoujo land right away where I get to pucker up with tsundere nobles, kawaii himes and sweet meidos. For that I wouldn't mind laundering kawaii pantsu with cute pink ribbons a permanent sleeping spot on the floor....
Onward to ep 8.

lol… welcome to my world… hahaha but really dun u find tsunderekos the moeest thing in the world XD… anyway, i dun really have much hope on this series coz I feel that they will hit us with an open-ended ending with siesta vs louise for saito’s affections. And so far finally after 10 eps, let the angst begin! muahahaha… Also, I kinda prefer louise in this anime over the horie-voiced siesta(for the 1st time ever i have not rooted for a horie-voiced character!!!), Coz so far Louise’s Tsundereness pawns all!!! even mikuru got hit of the top of the chart of most moe character in my book heh…

cyw1988, since the novels run on much much futher then a measly 13eps. Of course the ending is going to be open ended. We want them leave room for a sequel,so we can see more of jesscia and a busty blond elf
character who will join the group in vol9 or 10.

yeah, I agree that J.C. Staff has been making great entertaining anime lately. I myself nowdays prefer light fanservice entertaining series rather than heavy plot serious brainrecking series. So what if its predictable as long as it does not fail to entertain you right? ^^ Just for the record, J.C. staff has been involved with lots of “not so predictable show” too. R.O.D TV for example. I just hope they keep up their consistant quality since they sometime do screw up quite badly.

The only thing that JC staff lacks is in the battle department, if they get someone with skills that can anime great battle sequences, then they will proably be able to get in the same level as Kyoani.

cyw1988: Yeah! I was surprised myself by having to struggle between rooting for Hocchan’s meido and Louise. XD And I didn’t know Chrno Crusade was’ extended’. Hmm, but wouldn’t it be too tight a production schedule to do that within the airing of the first 13 eps? Anyhow, Louise and Siesta is always welcomed!

muhootsaver: Oh yes, I enjoyed their ROD TV very much too.
I think it’s never an issue with their production values but rather their script. For example they chose the easiest path in Tsukhime and we have a beautifully rendered but lacklustred interpretation of the very excellent game. Of course I wouldn’t even go into their Ikkitousen.. XD For now, they seem to execute romance sprinkled with drama well although I’m also not sure how long they can sustain on this before fans start branding it as ‘formulaic’ 
golthin: Actually I believe they are capable of great battle sequences (not Kyo-Ani level though.
) Ikkitousen for all its trashy plot, had some thrilling fights. ROD TV’s papers fights were quite grand too. I’d always remember Maburaho’s magic duels (especially the final one) to be rather impressive. Maybe J.C Staff watered down their battle scenes to channel airtime and budget to building characters or a more coherent tale. Still, yeah, it’s be great to see an awesome battle scene of Louise/Saito pwn-ing enemies.
