Pani Poni Dash! 10

Main story concentrates on Behoimi and Media working together to defuse a large number of bombs that have suddenly appeared around Momotsuki Academy. Though neither character are my favourites, I liked the way the episode added interest by hinting at their shared history of military operations (possibly on opposing sides) as well as Behoimi's hostility which develops into an uneasy friendship with possible yuri overtones. The side story of 1-C's presentations of summer projects merge into the main story to bring Becky and gang in. Much suffering for Mesousa in the process. LOL.

I enjoyed the first OP visual sequence and song (Kiroi Vaccine) but I like this second one (Roulette Roulette) even better. The "Ooooh MAHO!" is such a great hook and while the visual sequences retain a certain faux retro charm of OP1 (that also reminds me of Quentin Tarantino film OPs), it's even wackier.

Rei is da bomb.

Ichijou is... complicated.

Crab on her mind.

Somebody set up us the bomb. Media's earpiece (what was that!?) picks up bomb warnings and Behoimi goes with her to keep an eye on her former foe.

Everyone makes fun of Kurumi's summer project. It's true that charting the growth of a morning glory as about as plain vanilla an independent summer homework project can get but everyone still feels the need to rub her face in it. The rabbit shed beckons but even in her misery, Kurumi can still inflict misery on Mesousa without even thinking about it. And I think she looks good in long hair. No one from the class notices, of course. LOL

Ichijou makes Mesousa another "friend" - whether or not he wants it or not. I don't know why but Ichijou looks incredibly hot in the third screencap.

More bombs.

Rokugo is such an airhead. No sympathy for her at all - Rei's comment at the end sums it up: you've brought it upon yourself. But it was just wonderful she set up the scene for Ichijou's Try To Make Things Better But Actually Make Things Much Worse tangential comment.

Fun to see how easily Behoimi was captured and dressed up by the Kashiwagi sisters and Media's whining about wanting Behoimi back quickly was unexpectedly good too.

I felt rather sorry for Serizawa - she tries her best to perfect her robot cosplay but can't offer any competition against Ichijou who isn't even trying.

Bit of a cheap laugh but the prelude of this scene was blatantly trying to get the viewer to think that Behoimi and Media were having the s3xx0r.

And, of course, as Becky is the star of this series she has to blunder into the bomb disposal scene and rig herself up with the most complicated device.

The many emoticons of Kurumi Momose. As the common girl with common sense, she's the only one who's bothered by the whole situation as well as disturbed by Behoimi's extensive knowledge of explosive devices.

In the end, with Mesousa's unwilling help, Becky saves the day and herself in a completely unexpected way. After working together to overcome adversity, Behoimi learns to be civil to Media. The after ED scene with Mesousa being forgotten by everyone was also great.

Hey, hey, hey! Thanks to your screenshots, I now notice that they foreshadowed the appearance of the Misery God( in training).

She actually turns up very early – in Ep 2 or 3 around Kurumi I think… Quite nice to be able to catch these little things when rewatching.

I didn’t even notice Taeko-chan sitting next to Kurumi in the rabbit shed! Also Ichijou’s character design looks so much better without the ‘dead eyes’ or ‘SD eyes’ that she usually sports.
