Daphne in the brilliant blue 01-04

The only other series I catching this new season besides Mezzo DSA. Though it's not original, the characters, especially Maia, were engaging enough for me to finish the 4 eps I had in my possession in rather quickly. And the story seems to know where it's headed too. No sign of it doing a Mahoromatic 2 or Kiddy Grade as yet. However, a few aspects of the series does disturb me. First, why does Maia remind me so much of a sotong? It's the way her head is drawn. (Yes, it's the head and not the hair... see Asakura Nemu (D.C. ~Da Capo~) for an example of looking big-headed due to hair.) Maia looks like she's straight out of "Mars Attacks!". It took me 2.5 eps to get used to that. The other thing is their costumes. It defies the laws of physics. Ah well, the characters themselves defy the laws of nature anyway.

I'm interested to see how it goes from here. Especially curious about the 'Daphne' in the series title. Hope it does tie in with something central to the series, as opposed to ludicriously titled series, Kiddy Grade (which can be rather aptly named if you consider the pedophilic undertones applied to Lumiere. *Hanzai desu!*)
