Many things about this episode pleased me even as my assessment of this series is downgraded from expectations of Kara no Kyoukai epicness to B-grade TYPE MOON-inspired bubblegum entertainment:

Alphard-oneesama is all sorts of awesome: evening gown awesome, oppai awesome, I’m beyond hatred awesome, Maaya Sakamoto-voiced awesome, heavy flirting with Canaan in the bathroom awesome, dripping water thank you awesome et cetera et cetera. Kabitzin has the screencaps covered.

Even Ui says Yui FTW.

It’s a powerful endorsement. And completely unexpected. While Yui is indeed fortunate to have such an understanding (or one eye closed) sister in Ui, there’s also the reverse factor highlighted when Ritsu imagined that the contrasting personalities could set the scene for a tragic family doramaz. She later concluded that it was not the case because, I think it’s plain to see, Yui doesn’t abuse her elder sister status or have any sense of entitlement to be spoilt by Ui while Ui doesn’t impose her own personal standards of conduct on her elder sister, understanding that Yui is, well, Yui. And that, deep down and upfront, she’s got lots of heart.

I wonder if Azusa would be as keen on Mio being her Oneesan after learning more about her during the training camp?

The addition of ‘fuzzy’ to the translation of 温かい is brilliant IMHO.

SO- CUTE that even a certain siscon-lovin’ tanuki was caught by waifu drowning in pools of their own drool. Verily Saki-nee is our last best hope for world peace i.e. the final destruction of the siscon (imouto) sect.

Though our ultimate victory is at hand, the scourge of heresy is ever present – my second favourite chara is actually… Koyoi:

• She has a cute appearance. The ED shows her in a great light as a Japanese nadesico nadeshiko and even Yoshihiko said that she was a 美人 when arguing with Yuuji on the middle school fence.
• She also manages to be a cute lil’ sis without being nauseating but I suppose it’s because she gets steamrollered so often by life in general and Saki-nee in particular. LOL
• Her jealousy, spiced with a sprinkling of self-awareness at her cruisers can’t repel firepower of that magnitude, is also rather cute.
• The way she bullies Yoshihiko by bawling everytime he tries to set her bro-con fantasies straight or put some distance between them does, ironically, bring out the best in Yoshihiko – being kind to a fault.
