Many things about this episode pleased me even as my assessment of this series is downgraded from expectations of Kara no Kyoukai epicness to B-grade TYPE MOON-inspired bubblegum entertainment:

Alphard-oneesama is all sorts of awesome: evening gown awesome, oppai awesome, I’m beyond hatred awesome, Maaya Sakamoto-voiced awesome, heavy flirting with Canaan in the bathroom awesome, dripping water thank you awesome et cetera et cetera. Kabitzin has the screencaps covered.

All my bandwidth were belong to Kara no Kyoukai 5. Everything else went to the back of the queue over the six days (not including office hours since I use my personal laptop at work) the TYPE MOON/ufotable goodness dripped down the pipe through a really crap connection. How I envy Adun for having seen it on the big screen!

There’s so much about it that I want to gush about but, at this point, I’d just like to respond to the query from Evirus about how I felt about Maaya Sakamoto voicing both Shikis.

And I can say it out loud: Maaya as a male Shiki is fine too: ‘I don’t really mind if Shiki is male. But if I’m allowed to be greedy, I’d prefer it if she was a girl.’ My estimation of Kokuto Mikiya went through the roof with that statement. Maaya, good job! Mikiya, good job! And Azaha, so poor thing! LOL

In this vein there seems to be, if Kurogane is any indication, a general sense of (hand) relief at the appearance of Shizu in Maria+Holic. The Trap Fap Security colour code has been downgraded from Red to Green; fanboys can now fap to Mariya screen time and tell themselves that they are really fapping to Shizu.

I haven’t seen the episode yet but already I’m thinking: Come on, guys (and yuri girls), stop kidding yourselves already! It’s the bricolage of all those interlaced layers of RIGHTNESS and WRONGNESS that makes Mariya so hawt.

Besides if you’ve fapped to Mariya before Ep 6, you’ve effectively been trapped by the Kurogane Doctrine already. Ahaha~♥

Driving force not to blame for vehicle breakdown

Evirus’ puzzlement about the lack of a category for Ouran Host Club in hontou ni sou omou? is now a matter to be addressed in the past tense. I vaguely remember dropping Ouran very late in the series. That was unusual, for me, because, usually, if I had watched so much of a series, I tend to hang on to the bitter end.

It wasn’t so much the slump, noted by Kabitzin (though he did enjoy it overall) and Ender, that got to me but a growing frustration from how I felt the characters’ relationships did not grow as much as I felt they could. But it’s been two years already and my memories are foggy. Checking back on my CD-Rs, DVD-Rs and external HDD, I have found that I didn’t even keep a copy of the series. Wow, I must have been really quite frustrated with it.

Of course, Maaya Sakamoto was not to blame. I agree completely with Evirus’ observation that the series would not have worked without her: ‘Rich bastards!!’
