ufotable animation and Kajiura Yuki music brought Evirus into the Garden of Sinners. I got hooked when I learnt that Sakamoto Maaya was voicing Ryougi Shiki. After all, she voiced Lunamaria Hawke who is the patron megami of this anime blog and my Maaya love was recently bolstered by the Oneesama appeal of Lal’C Mell Mark.
The first episode of Kara no Kyoukai was impressive… Most impressive. Reminded me of many of the things that I liked about Ghost in the Shell: Innocence - the grimey and decaying environs, the doll/mannequin motif, the general sense of brooding and mystery, a kick ass female lead (who leaps off buildings…) etc.
But, in all honesty, the real trigger was this Shiki figurine… I never buy a figure from a series I’ve not seen. I’ve got to like the chara first and foremost and then and only then do I look at whether aesthetic and PVC quality are worthy of the chara.

It was a welcome surprise to see (and acquire!) Sega Toys/Chara Ani 1/8 Misumaru Yurika at a local anime goods store recently, given that I’m still slowly watching my way through my Nadesico DVD boxset.

「覗きは犯罪です。」 says Asakura Ryoko ever so sweetily as she prepares to eviscerate you for peeking at her darling Yuki while she’s changing into her swimsuit.
After a seemingly interminable wait, Alter Yuki (Swimsuit version), based on that evil MEGAMI poster, is finally in mine Zaku grips! MEGAMI tends to up the ero-level relative to the anime but this works really well in terms of having great appeal to both to silent girl moé and erojiji crowds (crowds may overlap, batteries not included).
