It was a welcome surprise to see (and acquire!) Sega Toys/Chara Ani 1/8 Misumaru Yurika at a local anime goods store recently, given that I’m still slowly watching my way through my Nadesico DVD boxset.

Also as it’s not a recent release - when was this first released? Some of the comments on Danny Choo’s post on this figure date from 1999 even though the site archives themselves only date back to 2004. And the date stamp on the post itself doesn’t show the year. You can surmise I was slightly confused. On 1999.co.jp, the release date was mid August of 2006 - which makes it a lag of more than decade since the series first aired. It’s an unbelievable lag if this was the first release! Apparently a collaboration between Sega Toys and Chara-Ani but not listed on the latter’s Nadesico page any longer. Hmmm…

Regardless of not being exactly sure of when she was made, I’m still muchly happy with this purchase. Her facial expression captures Yurika’s genkiness very well, as does her confident and funloving pose. Although there are generally less details to take care of when it comes to bikini figures, this bikini scores well in my book because of the incredibly fine detail of the Nergal logo on Yurika’s left breast and for the three bows - one in the middle of her bikini top and the other two as side-ties for her bikini bottom.

Ancient machines and anime

While I have procured DVD replacements for my Slayers and Evangelion VHS tapes, the same can’t be said of the hardware used to actually watch said animu. In contrast to moyism’s Samsung 50â€³ plasma 1080p TV/monitor or Stripey’s Sharp Aquos LC-42PX5M, I’m still using a CRT, an ancient bulky 21″ Panasonic TX21GF10M (yes, it has colour though it’s pre-Trinitron so the screen is convex towards the viewer). And I have not one but two VHS tape recorders (Sharp MA30 and JVC HR-J677MS). Ahaha~ ♥

The Revenge of the Marianne Fan Club! Cornelia and Jeremiah were both on Marianne’s guard on that fateful day. Lelouch is Marianne’s eldest child and son. C.C. looks like a Marianne fan girl too and is probably still having Conversations in the After Life with the late Empress.

From Charles’ question, it seems that V.V. did not consult the Emperor about sending Jeremiah after Lelouch. I’m starting to suspect that V.V. was the one who ordered Marianne’s assassination and probably without asking/telling Charles first too. LOLOL at how V.V. said that he liked Lelouch a bit because he most resembled Charles. I just see even MOAR yaoi parodies on the horizon. But also LOL at Charles saying that V.V. has lied. Again. Probably the line that Lelouch even lied to Nunnally… because if anyone had taken care to bug Suzaku’s mobile, the truth would been abundantly clear. And when did V.V. tell the previous lie? Was it: ‘I had nothing to do with the death of your WAIFU!’ *fingers crossed behind back*
