The funniest thing about Hinano’s attempt to raise the dead was that some listed patently weren’t. And it seems to chochok-ed tjhan at least. Or is that really a tjhan homunculus over at RIUVA now? (BTW the ending of FMA really ruined the series for me. I’ll probably wait for the new iteration to conclude before deciding whether to pick it up, like the way I did with the first season of Code Geass.)

Anyhow this post was spurred, in the aftermath of LOL at the title of Martin‘s feedreader folder, by the impulse look at the ‘on hiatus’ feeds I subscribe to, albeit incompletely. WRT hiatus criteria, mine are (1) self-declared (Goodbye, World) or (2) no anime posts for at least three months. In monitoring the undead, there’s a distinct bias towards the Ole Skool blogs who have been around since the Ancient Times; well, those haven’t vanished into the ether of the interwebs and who have RSS feeds. Aside from those, I do miss two yuri fans, mangaminx who burned out after Mai Otome concluded and myu of the yandere love.

I guess I’m a sentimental sort of guy. Now suddenly have the urge to go back and tag old posts bemoaning the disappearance or hiatus of old anime blogs with the title of this post.

After much procrastination, I finally got down to making an animated gif from Index Episode 14 where Mikoto returns home to someone who loves her. Except I couldn’t remember how to do it at first. And as with all matters technical, I turned to Kabitzin – specifically the tutorial recommended in the Matsurika guitar post.

First off, I had to get the images to make up the animated gif; went for the ffdshow method. But it didn’t spell out step-by-step how to ‘grab a range of frames.’ Fortunately even I was able to figure it out. Eventually. So I thought I’d better write it down in case I want to do this again.

While playing the anime in Zoom Player, pause and then press ‘I’ – this gives the ‘Information & Statistics’ box on the left. The info I was looking for was ‘Current Frame’ – repeat to find the frame number to input in the Range option under the ffdshow Grab menu.

And here it is. I particularly loved the series of expressions that passed through Mikoto’s face. ‘Poor dear, I must have really worried her’ concern to see how relieved her kouhai was to see her oneesama safe and sound, ‘Dammit not again!’ exasperation at Kuroko’s erojiji seku hara, ‘She does this every chance she gets!’ resignation at the above-mentioned and finally ‘Ah well, it’s not so bad’ indulgent smile.

Onward to Ep 21 for Kuroko facerubbing Biri Biri chest good times again!

Please please don’t hotlink it (it’s about 2MB orz). If you want to use it, please download it and upload the animated gif to your own hosting space.

[insert screencap (which I don't have so a text note will have to do) of light coming out of the pages of one of Suguru's ero-hon]

Via BBC News:

Japan’s exports plunged 45.7% in January compared with a year ago to hit the lowest figure in 10 years, official figures have shown.

Obviously some one needs to buy MOAR loli pr0n and stuff – pronto.

Speaking of economic stimulus, clearly the ban does not apply to anime porn.
