Food of the Otaku Generation

I met a traveler from an antique land
Who said: Many sharp and toothy bits of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose smile,
And generous bosom, and hair antenna of shoujo command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read,
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed,
And on the pedestal these words appear:
“My name is Mai Tokiha, Otome of the Fire Stirring Ruby:
Look upon my ramen, ye Mighty, and be hungry!”

Like Karmaburn, I had a serious case of ramen craving due to Mai Otome 23.

Mai Otome 24

I suppose Haruka is referring to the scriptwriters. Mai Otome 23

Arika and Mashiro are treated to Mai ramen. They are in the Black Valley where Cat God Mikoto lives with Mai. Natsuki and Nao-oneesama are soon dropped in. Miyu confirms that Nina is the heir to the throne of Windbloom while Arika is Rena’s daughter. Yeah, but there are two other seats at the Harmonium so Mashiro will probably join them. Besides she’s part of the main trio in the first and second OPs. In any case, Mai-hime (orz pun, SUNRISE) is revealed, in addition to be a legendary busty beauty Otome and delicious type of mushroom, to be a real princess by Natsuki. More importantly, Mashiro has now met the object of her object of desire’s siscon desire. Natsuki and Nao head back to Garderobe for great justice now that Nagi has set Nina on another teenage-angst fuelled rampage. Arika learns that she has much to learn from Mikoto. Mai Otome 22

The whole Sergey-Arika-Nina thing made me pretty squeamish. The ease with which Aswad overran Fia and co was a tad too much of a cakewalk even if one could excuse it by saying that Shizuru is one of the top Otome. Another Nina Otousama temper tantrum and big explosion was tiresome. But Evil Tomoe was enjoyable. Continue reading ‘Mai Otome 22′
