I was pretty surprised that the two newbies were the younger siblings of the two troublemakers. I was thinking that Shinobu sounded just like Aika from ARIA and it was indeed Chiwa Saito. LOL

And shokku that Yoshikawa-sensei married Ishibashi-sensei! 0_0

Dan maybe the new Club Captain but the ancien regime won’t disappear anytime soon!

Hmmm… whenever the anime standard for yuri couple with a kid is probably the best thing from StrikerS: Nanoha x Fate with Vivio.

I was slightly surprised that there was no doramaz about convincing Ishida to come back and slightly disappointed that Miya Miya didn’t have to do Reimi any erm… favours to get the former’s mom off Toraji’s back. LOL at Ishibashi having a similar incident with the Evil Mom.

Overall, I really enjoyed this series even though I was not impressed at all by the premise and did not plan to pick it up at all. But I was influenced by Kurogane and I’m glad I was: a rare case where all the girls in the cast were interesting, likeable and significant characters in their own right who also interacted with each in a thoroughly believable and fun way. Things have been looking up since our bedroom scene! *fist clench* / :3

The kendo-kers face off in the individual matches of the Rising Dragon tournament, the very one where Ishida won his great victory all those years ago in the 25th tournament. In the first round, Satori gets crushed by Tama-chan while Miya Miya finds an opening in Carrie’s stance to land a spectacular strike FTW. Dan and Yuuji face off; the former has improved tremendously, surprising a pumped up Yuuji – the latter’s battle aura is noticed and admired by Tama-chan. Our petite heroine faces Rin in the second round but Ishida’s training, we finally see Tama-chan’s mom’s face and her new love for kendo results in a spectacular victory. Braver and Shinaider are now even with one win and one loss each! [Also see Totali's summary.]

It’s a dream come through for Reimi! But Miya Miya’s brought a chaperone.

It was both funny and satisfying that Reimi’s obsession with Miya Miya has finally paid some dividends! It just made Miya Miya’s victory over Carrie even more satisfying as she had superior intel from the video footage, superior planning with Satori’s advice, the element of surprise and superior morale from Da Powah of Dan Rabu (oh yes, I can just hear Kabitzin die a little more inside now LOL). Complete reversal of how Reimi’s antics had caused Miya Miya to completely lose it and thus lose her matches almost like forfeitures (lights are on but no one’s home) – this time, the distraction of Reimi’s flash actually resulted in her spectacular disarming of Carrie’s double swords.

Tama-chan, we will now incorporate you into our yuri harem before Yuuji can get to you! Your loli distinctiveness will be added to our own. Resistance is futile!

Ishida rides off into the sunset; is his teaching career over for good since his team didn’t distinguish themselves with a trophy? I was thinking that a combination of the team, Yoshikawa-sensei and particularly Miya Miya persuading Reimi to persuade her mom might save the day for Toraji… but let’s see next week for the final answer.

Kirino x Sayako FTW!

The road to recovery felt a bit like dominoes or billiards. Kirino is pulled back from the brink by Sayako in a delicious bedroom encounter. ~~ Yuuji gives Tama-chan a nudge who then nudges Ishida-sensei. Satori’s pull results in Miya Miya regaining her balance. Dan finds resolution in landing a good blow on Toyama – that (re)builds a bridge to Miya Miya. And the delinquent guys and Captain Kirino exchange parting tokens. It’s a bitter sweet symphony.

But the part I enjoyed best was, of course, lovely lovely Kirino x Saya almost rabu rabu. The main romance in this series, as observed by Totali, comes from just Miya Miya x Dan. But second comes, Kirino and Sayako. More than Yuuji and Tamaki I’d wager. LOL

Ah sweet Saya, she’s a flaky, unreliable but ultimately big hearted girlfriend. Big chested too. :3
