T.T. Durai: Brought a lawsuit for defamation against a newspaper but got brought down when it backfired rather badly.

Defamation Act: IANAL but methinks if something is true, it can’t be defamatory. But burden of proof tends to lie with the defendant to show that it is true.

Dismissal without prejudice: Oft abused/confused term especially by IANALs like meself. Not sure but methinks that the most practical considerations in a Sg context are that both parties pay their own legal costs for this round and the suit can be brought again.
