Index anime poisoned by Railgun manga

Paraphrasing Author, I can understand why some avoid manga while watching an anime based on it. In this specific instant, it was also a case of being poisoned by Mentar. :3

Index could certainly do with MOAR Biri Biri. Aroduc proposes: ‘Really, all that they need to do is give Mikoto more screen time.’ Kuroko too. And a manga-influenced 53RG10 seconds. But I’d probably be happier with either a spin-off thirteen episode series or a four ep OVA based on the Railgun manga.

I managed to order the first volume (Ch 1-7) from the local Kinokuniya at only SGD 10.89 but, for some mysterious reason, they couldn’t order the second so I spent JPY 3,000 (SGD 49.34) to get it from Amazon.jp Marketplace and another SGD 21.00 on Vpost shipping. Certainly an eye-popping amount for just one volume but it’s been ameliorated by the special Index poker set. And, most importantly, I’ve been really enjoying both volumes. Being an old-fashioned kind of person, I somehow find the physical sensation of reading a physical book more enjoyable than reading off a computer screen.

All hail Biri Biri!

    Scientific Railgun >>>>> Magical Index.

Whoever thinks otherwise just doesn’t know a thing about SCIENCE!

Mikoto is barely in the first novel which is what the first 6 episodes are based on, JC staff actually included cameo scenes of her during the first 6 eps.

Don’t worry about screentime, she’s a major player, from what I’v heard its Index fans who have to worry about screen time ;)

Thanks for the tip, I didn’t know there was a Railgun manga–definitely a good read, here’s hoping the scanlators keep up the good work.

The Index anime has been a little disappointing for me too–since I was raised Catholic, I just can’t find nuns moe, and Mikoto and Kuroko are just much more interesting characters to me. If later on we get more Mikoto, less Index, and less whole episodes where it feels like they’re reading us volumes of explanation out of the light novel, maybe it’ll get much better.

bpop, She Blinded Me With Science!

lollollol, huzzah! Looking forward to more Mikoto screentime.

suguru, just passing along a good thing that Mentar recommended. ;) LOL on your immunity to nun moé – Zange would probably have no hold on you either?

Man, I’m just reminded that the 2 hottest girls for me this Fall happens to be… nuns…. wait, they’re also called sisters…..

    *REVELATION”

    Now that explains it…

She has her own manga? And it’s called Railgun?

Too good to be true, so it isn’t. Good try though.

Stripey, but these kinds of Sisters don’t go ‘Oniichan’…

Kikaifan, rejoice as it is true.

Amazon.co.jp for Vol.1 and Vol.2 (collector’s edition). Gah! Just only realized that there was the non-card pack economy option too… but then shipping would cost more than the item itself. orz

Railguns have never been that interesting until Mikoto made it so :3. And erojiijii Kuroko 4TW!! Sigh… If only they could FF to Accelerator’s arc soon. :s

It’s not the Nun that is moe, but the loli behind the Nun!

    *cough*

In any case; Magic is good, Science is great, Magic AND Science however, is awesome.

Similarly; Index is moe, Mikoto is love, Index AND Mikoto is pure WIN.

I, for one, seriously don’t get the whole nun thing. WTF’s supposed to be so hot about it?

Not that I grasped too many of the other animu fetish tropes, mind…

Dav, from the OP, the Accelerator arc looks like the finale. Looking fwd to that! :)

Chaos2Frozen, actually I’m starting to feel Index has been a bit redundant and even mildly irritating over the past few eps (6-8)… which is a pity. I’m sure it’ll be great fun once she and Biri Biri finally meet.

usagijen, I’ll commute your Death by Railgun sentence to a mild if hairdo-ruining electro-shock. You must have under the influence of Kabitzin’s geass to such a lame pun. ;)

Watchman, about nun moe or the lack thereof, I’m thinking that Chaos2Frozen has a good point. It’s not just the nun outfit and talk but the whole light-haired loli thing combined with it. Stripey’s hopelessly in love already due to the latter elements. LOL

Zyl: Unlikely. Biribiri and Accelerator are introduced in one and the same arc (volume 3). We should touch down on it soon, in 2-3 episodes. I’d rather assume that we might get a second OP for the second half.

I disliked especially episode 6, and while 7-8 weren’t what I’d consider great, I was able to enjoy it without irritation. It’s just that I want to slap Touma silly if he gets into one of these annoying lecturing monologues ;)
