Code Geass R2 Ep 13

Sigh, there goes my hopes for Better Relationships Through Mind Control and the Ashford Wives.

What happened to Schneizel’s two divisions along the Mongolian border and his clever plot to win half of the Chinese Federation through threats and posturing? But more importantly, LOL at how Lelouch’s minions are scored as he plays Koei’s latest offering (see mouseover above). Ranked in descending order, based a total of numeric values for Intelligence, Combat Ability, Charisma and Loyalty are:

Tohdoh: 345
Kaguya: 270 (despite scoring Zero for Combat Ability!)
Rakshata: 260 (technical genius bonus)
Kallen: 250 (surprisingly low Charisma)
Oghi:245
Minami and Sugiyama tied at: 200
Asahina: 195 (His mecha needs a Mi-Mi-Mikuru BEAMU!)
Diethard: 180 (GI-RO-GI-RO-GI-RO)
Chiba: 175 (Low loyalty to Zero, Love Power for Tohdoh yet to be confessed)
Tamaki: 40 (LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL)

Based on the OP and the talk between Cornelia, Bartley and V.V., I’m starting to get some serious Battle Athletes / Scrapped Princess / Gurren Lagann vibes here. Two sides battle each other but have to work together (kindof) to save the space against a much bigger alien threat. Will C.C. be the spanner in the works?

Jeremiah has finally gotten Lelouch to stop calling him Orange. The turnaround was really fortuitous but wasn’t entirely surprising given how we’ve been told by the fifth Picture Drama about how Gottwald (and Cornelia in Ep 25) were guards for Marianne. Behold the power of Marianne Complex! Maybe I’m reading too much into it but now Jeremiah has addressed Lelouch as ‘Your Majesty’ (which is how the Emperor is addressed) rather than ‘Your Highness’, he recognizes Lelouch as the true leader of Britannia?

Will V.V. be surprised or has this all been factored into his plans already? Another nice example of how personal loyalty and affection has overcome loyalty to a larger and more abstract concept.

And behold the power of love power, the supreme example being Shirley who has been surprisingly quick to forgive her Lelou for causing the death of her father. I’ll miss her but she really went out in style, being able to hammer home to Lelouch just what he’s lost. As such, she’s now been promoted to have her own solo frame in the ED as Angelic Haremette in Chief!

Hopefully this means we’ll get a shining ghost Shirley as Lulu screams “SHIRLEYYYYYYYYYY!!!!” before going into SEED mode as he confronts the Emperor. :P

Ah well - at least he can ditch Rolo now - a much superior man-haremette has introduced himself, and has a more useful talent as well. Oh, and he’s not completely psycho like Rolo; he’s merely VERY idealistic, and devoted to Marianne and her kids. And hey! Lulu is her kid. And THIS guy won’t off Nunnally out of jealousy, unlike the guy who probably offed Shirley (*cough*SHOTA-YANDERE-ROLO*HACK).

But a singing Lloyd and Cecile-nee scares me for some reason… maybe because this means he’s actually gay for her, or she’s a futanari…

Lol Haesslich… but perhaps this means that Jeremiah will kill Rolo? We can hope…

  3. 3 Kabitzin

What’s Shirley’s problem? When Lelouch geasses Suzaku, that boy’s ready to take off in his mecha to escape and see Kallen naked. If Suzaku had been in Shirley’s place, he would have run up a wall and spin-kicked Rollo in the face.

  4. 4 Haesslich

Kabitzin: Or he’d have died, and we’d have one less person to hate. And Rolo would’ve redeemed himself, until he killed Nunnally.

Ah well. At least Rolo didn’t shoot Shirley in the melonpan - it’s intact, for what that’s worth. And if Viletta did it, she’s dead along with Rolo.

looking at the mouseover for the first screenshot. i got a aidea that lloyds next mech will use cecil-nee “cooking” as ammunition.

“What happened to Schneizel’s two divisions along the Mongolian border and his clever plot to win half of the Chinese Federation through threats and posturing?”

    It takes time?

Either it won’t matter (?) or it will only matter later, even if it’s only vaguely referenced.

Not like it was necessary to deal with any of that this episode though, in any way, shape or form.

SHIRLEY NEEDED TO DIE AND ROLO NEEDED TO KILL HER. What’s China got to do with that? Taking screen time away from that would have been a bad move too.

…DAMN why did I have to know that after ep 12 (conveniently named love attack) a haremette was gonna die! I’m sorry Shriley I cursed you… well at least it wasnt Karen then Lelouch/Zero would be cryingand the black knights would be fucked. Also LOL at the Marianne complex, perhaps Lelouch plans to have Cornellia join in the same way?

  8. 8 Haesslich

Well… Kallen may be defecting to Britannia, so Lulu MAY have to kill her anyways. Now he just has to kill Kaguya-hime, and we’ve gotten rid of all the female haremettes.

  9. 9 Seradon

…you forgot C.C. sides her “loyalty” is maxed out for a reason. And there was the whole “I’ll save you!!!” promise so they’ll probably have that later. Lloyd is probably gonna learn the hard way he shouldnt play with foreign knightmares when he finds out his new top secret super weapon is on the Black Knights side. Thankfully for Brittania since Cecil is on the British side the Black Knights new cooking based weapon will only have limited ammunition…

Everyone keeps commenting on the low charisma for Kallen (and some went far enough to comment on high charisma of Tohdoh).

I think charisma in this case simply means the ability to captivate your troops/ persuade others to your cause, which might explain the case.

On another note, was it just me or was Lelouch able to geass Shirley again? (even though it didn’t work, it went through). Do I smell some unlimited geassing exploit?

  11. 11 Seradon

well since good-ol’ Orange-kun went and canceled the geass casted on shirley it probably made it as if it had never been used in the first place

  12. 12 EvilDevil

    *cries* shirley!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. 13 Watchman

*randomly wonders whoever in the series planning dept. thought it was a cool thing to give Lelouch the pidgin-French surname of “red lamp/lantern”*

  14. 14 Ransom

Watchman: Well, he is a bit of a manslut, so “Red Light” kinda fits.

  15. 15 Dr_Tenma

LOL @ Kallen’s intelligence. “ME KALLEN, ME SMASH!”

As for Charisma, I think they meant “Fame.” Tohdoh and Kaguya are heroes, veterans and leaders. Kallen is a rookie teenager and a frontlines grunt.

I wasn’t all too surprised, but I still don’t think Shirley deserved that. I would have even prefered Kallen to die before Shirley.

I also don’t know why people keep putting out theories of Rolo not being the culprit. He has a history of murdering Intelligence agents for trivial reasons, used his Geass when she mentioned Nunnally, and the gun in her hand probably didn’t help.

Then again, I never expected Orange-kun to defect to the rebels…

  16. 16 Zyl

A sure warning that Rolo will snap big time is when he stirs the empty pot. ;)

Kallen has been seduced by the charms of blind, wheelchair bound DFC loli!?

There should also be another score for bully-able by C.C. - Kallen would sure to be a top scorer!

  17. 17 Shinzantetsu

That would actually be kind of funny if Kallen ended up becoming Nunnally’s Knight, Zyl. Not sure how Lelouch would take it though.

  18. 18 aa

    funny (and impossible) prediction:

Lelouch: Kisamaa!! (in the akasha no tsurugi EP15)
    Alarm Rings
Lelouch: OH SHIT! IT WAS A F***IN DREAM!!!

    LOL
