A hot springs episode without hot springs fanservice? Bamboo Blade’s bath house episode’s fanservice-lessness is the new fashion!?
This week’s episode follows the usual pattern; Touru gets targeted by a spirit and he gets rescued by Kuu and Kou with Noboru in assist mode. Totali notes how the hot springs draw prize is such a cliché.However the two predictable currents still produced an entertaining and story-building result. There was an interesting variation where the spirit wasn’t actually malicious.
But it also showed the good qualities of the four main characters and of the strengthening of their bonds. Kuu and Kou demonstrate, once again, their devotion to Noboru and Touru. But Noboru and Touru also show their care for and faith in Kuu and Kou - justifying how They Are Our Noble Masters, when Touru speaks up for Kou and Noboru speaks up for Kuu to their formidable grandma.
So looking forward to the next arc where Momiji (yay Shizuka Itou!) will seem to have a bigger role. I don’t think she’ll mean any harm to the Takagami brothers but seems to be set up as a sorta rival to Kuu…
Fanservice at the end for 5 seconds is fanservice!
As lovely as Kuu fanservice might be, she could also turn into a trap at any moment! X_x
