Towards Happily Ever After in Code Geass R2

Does anyone know the source of the above picture? While Haesslich has set his Nunnally Death Counter and arguments rage on about devils and angels, I’m hoping against hope for a good end.

Just as AIC x GONZO produced a great mermaid gangster love comedy despite GONZO’s involvement, I’m hoping that the CLAMP x SUNRISE gattai will produce an ending that saved the world when all seemed lost at the last minute in a truly epic and good end way, X TV - I’m lookin’ at you!

In any case, Nunnally seems to be the key. Not just to Lelouch. Or the fate of Area 11 as the new governor general. In the first season, it was noted that she’s *not* actually physically blind and the loss of her sight is theorized as being psychosomatic due to the trauma of having her mother killed in front of her. But it also makes it impossible for the command geass to be used on her. The Emperor didn’t tell her about it. But could she have known about it already? A secret imparted from the dying moments of her mother?

And about the mystery of Marianne ordering Cornelia and the security force to withdraw before the assassination; was that geass-induced? And what did Schniezel do with her body after removing it at the Emperor’s command? We know that his staff conducted experiments on using deceased great pilots as test subjects. Which was what General Bartley did with Orange-kun. Could a similar experiment have been done on former Queen Marianne who was nicknamed the Lightning Flash, a commoner who rose through her great skill at Knightmare piloting? Perhaps built into the core of a critical (plot) device (the Sword of Akasha?), like Rena Sayers as the basis of the Valkyrie system in another SUNRISE sequel series, Mai Otome?

Will we see Nunnally and Lelouch being reunited with Marianne and them giving each other the resolve and the resolution for a good end?

Hey the balding ass hat’s name was Bartley! Do not defame the good name of General Omar Bradley, sir.

Given that Charles has control over memories maybe Marianne isn’t dead, and it’s all an elaborate deception, to cover up a divorce or her elopement with some other dude. I wonder what the heck is up with Jupiter any way, one would think that if there were people from beyond the moon they’d be from Ganymede.

Nunnally will be in command, Nunnally will lead.

    Ack. I stand corrected.

There was that scene where C.C. was talking to Marianne too. But apparently (like Charles talking to Clovis) they can see dead people… About Jupiter, I just keep thinking of the Jovians from Martian Successor Nadesico.

Nunnally may not have geass but her power of siscon compels Lelouch! LOL

X TV was the last good anime CLAMP came up with. I mean, xxxHOLiC is fantastic story-wise but the animation makes me want to weep.

PS: I was completely thinking of you and Stripey while watching this episode what with Lelouch declaring his love for Nunnaly and all.

I can’t help but be completely pissed off by Nunnally. She is not even really blind! She’s like that guy who refused to talk in Little Miss Sunshine. Nunnally just likes having a meido, and having everyone push her everywhere. She doesn’t deserve that handicapped parking space!

Garten, your point reminds me that CLAMP was involved only in the character design for Code Geass and not in the story - so I shouldn’t get my hopes up. But WRT animation, CLAMP doesn’t produce anime right? X TV’s animation was produced by Madhouse who did a respectable job with Black Lagoon and a fantastic job with Paprika… xxxHOLIC’s animation style may not have been everyone’s cup of tea but the animation quality was ok IMHO. Production IG did do a fantastic job for the Midsummer Night’s Dream movie. And argh, one of the drawbacks of being part of the SISCON alliance. :P

Kabitzin, for some mysterious reason, Akismet ate your comment. Little Miss Sunshine link kinshi!?

a good ending in code geass?… I bet Lelouch will screw up like last time…

  7. 7 Seth

Wait, was there a thing about Marienne being a mecha pilot? Or was that a dream of a neat plot? If the former, where did I miss that part?

  8. 8 Zyl

EvilDevil, Lelouch did screw it up the last time but not intentionally - the whole geass going out of control on Euphie.

Seth, it’s alluded to in Lelouch’s conversation with Cornelia at the beginning of Ep 25. Another bit in the DVD 8 special.

Marianne being a pilot first came up when Lloyd mentioned it around episode 20 or 21 during the school festival.

Let’s just hope there isn’t any episode dedicated to Lelouch falling asleep and dreaming that him, Nunally, Suzaku and Euphie were one big happy family with Lloyd and Cecile as mommy and daddy. Which ends with toast-mouthed running C.C. running into Lulu as he goes to class taught by Ms. Viletta.

Gigantic Formula and Mai HiME I’m lookin at you!

    HitokiriShadow, thanks for the reminder.

Epi, LOL Neon Geass Evangelion School. Though now I just think of Emperor Charles grunting from behind his newspaper and Marianne in an apron making a full English breakfast.
