I’m liking how things are shaping up very much. The action, animation, art, ninja stuff is fine but what really intrigued me are the personal histories and relationships between the characters e.g. Thobari and Miharu, Miharu and Yoite, Raimei and the pink-haired katana user etc.

I can’t remember the gun user’s name yet but I like him already. What’s wrong with ninjas using guns? And definitely agree with not doing more than needed for a mission. Anyway he seems to understand the command intent and priorites of his GIRO GIRO boss and Closed Eyes Nadesico (whom I suspect is the REAL FINAL BOSS). While the Kairoushuu has been made out to be ‘the bad guys’, I’m not so sure. Like the world of Nabari, characters and motivations seem in the twilight rather than black or white.

I was going to link to Kabitzin’s comment in Totali’s post but I can’t seem to get a specific permalink for an individual comment. :(

Likewise for Kotarou Fuuma. He may have saved Miharu and gang but Raimei asked a good question: Why was he away? Can’t really say I’d trust him at this point even if he is Raimei’s clan head.

The part I liked best is how the blonde merc does not do pro-bono work. I wouldn’t put my neck out there unless it was a mission objective I was getting paid for.

While his village was being slaughtered, Kotarou was trying to decide what kind of cute animal he was going to transform into. Remember, you only get one chance to make a first impression!

The blonde guy’s name is Yukimi, I believe?

    He’s my favorite character =P
