Ok, now I’m feeling a little less emotional about the ending, I’d thought add some more thoughts here rather than in the main entry.
My interest flagged before the midway point. And I took Kabitzin’s blogging stop Ep 5 to be bad sign. But the great feedback from Erica and Hashihime made think that this series should be worthwhile to finish. And it was.
How Mari x Hagino developed was quite predictable. So much blushing it was comical. And I would have liked to have more aftermath information esp about Mari.
But I loved how the true significance of the Emiru Force Drive incident was revealed, how the school play was finished on the battlefield as well as tying the start and the end of the series plus the sci fi and the school life threads together. Needless to say, I thought it was a beautiful and such a romantic ending.
And Yuko Goto as Tsubael was a joy and a delight. All the different ways she enuciated ‘Commander’ conveyed so much emotion yet also showing how the character was still trying to keep some composure and dignity in front of her beloved Ekaril. And such fun when she taunted Mari (barbarian!) initially and her constant bickering (Urusai! Urusai1! Urusai!) with Azanael.
I got a little too tired of the blushing and slow burn story while I was watching. It seemed like the show was going in a good direction, but then I got caught up watching so many other series that I wasn’t as interested in finding out what happened with the force drive. Good to hear that you enjoyed it, though, and I was kinda surprised when I realized who the first woman was.
This series made me so depressed for how many weeks.
I can’t believe that it would be my 1st time to be depressed for an anime for that long.
Haha!
The series has a slow pace but I love it anyway.
The show made me feel like I wanna be there in their school because it looks so peaceful. (Except the battlefield of course)
Well, I love Tsubael’s voice actress.
Hehe!
But really I want this series to have another season.
I was hoping that Hagino didn’t die but really… Just have to face reality. Ahehe!
No matter how i look at it, i cant agree that it was somehow a romantic ending. I guess im just to simpleminded to understand. But accept that, it was truly a great anime! I loved it!
Geez i wanted atleast to know that “both” Mari and Hagino would be alive. That would be enough, and i would be satisfied. I wont let it get me depressed, but it will bug me for a while. I guess creaters of such animes cant help but to teas us!
Credit for a great storyline and quality! I really liked Tsubael to, she was like an extra spice to it! But i would liked the time when Mari and Hagino like, confessed to eachother their feelings and when they said “i love you” under the water to go slowly so that you could enjoy it more!
But all in all, it was a good show! But because im simpleminded and wants “happy endings”, i give Blue Drop 4 of 5!
