Be careful at what you select though; some, like Flight of the Eisenstein are terrific reads, others, like Fulgrim, can leave readers scratching their heads at the point of it all... Brothers of the Snake is a nice one too. This one is by Abnett, more known for his Gaunt series of books. Oh, and your old post was cross-referenced when the replies at Jason's blog turned... philosophical? Pseudo-religiously zealous? Oh, and, oddly enough, transposing the situation with a male Haruhi in the lead works, since Haruhi's antics in the Theatre stories seem perfect for your GAR-ish and willfull Haruki.
