It’s a pity that Ayako isn’t subbing this but, with the help of posts by Totali and Aroduc, nantoka I’ve managed to get the gist of the dialogue. Episode summaries banzai!
I was going to say, ‘Mochi goes whee!’ But since it looks less than ecstatic about being eaten, it could plausibly go: ‘Nooooo!!!!’ On the other hand, it looks phallic-tentacly enough to go: ‘I~YAAAAAA~~~ Tasukette~~~!’ Haruka, that is; not the mochi tentacle monster.

After Haruka chided Kana for exposing her belly, saying that Fujioka Not Bear might see her like that, I was half expecting her to say: ‘Who cares? He’s seen everything already!’ Alas.
Why does Haruka-neesama read such a crappy-sounding love novel? The Sin of Love?? Is it just Sensei to Ninomiya-kun withdrawal syndrome? Kurogane is right as usual; the follow-on screen cap is such soooo cute. Why can trashy novels / tv shows be so compelling?
Of course, the perfect comeback would have for Chiaki to bring Haruka-neesama in and ‘DON!’ everyone (less Haruka) would simply be annihilated by her Massive Wonders. Having just rewatched Onegai Twins, I just kept thinking how Miina and Karen would cup/cover their own chests after Tsubaki or Mizuho-sensei flaunted their assets (intentionally as a rhetorical argument winning device for the former and unintentionally for the latter).
Or, of course, Chiaki could cite the Mayumi Thyme defence as cited by Konata: ‘Flat chests are a sign of status! Their rarity makes them valuable!’ Come to think of it, it’s a good thing that Makoto didn’t turn up as Mako-chan otherwise she’ll he’ll be lumped together with Chiaki in the Flat Chest Alliance (also a treaty system proposed by Mayumi to Primula but never formed).

Lack of love. Saw good news on TT today, I’m really happy that at least one fansub group (GC) has picked it up. More power to them!
Eh, Zyl, from what I’ve read on the Animesuki forums, GC is a volunteer-contributor-thingie that was formed due to the *lack* of subs for Okawari, three episodes on. It’s all good though, as while I do understand Japanese, some of the more complex words/phrases went waaaaaaaaay over my head (never received JPL1 certification OTL).
Yes, they basically got together and say ’screw Ayako and everyone else, let’s just get one out there’. It’s plain but serviceable so far, with typos and punctuation issues.

As much as I regret Ayako’s decision not to pick up MKO, I respect it. They were providing their services for free after all. At the same time, I applaud GC for their efforts - instead of just whinin’ and bitchin’ (e.g. the unbelievable sense of self-entitlement from so-called fans over the MKV vs XVid/AVI releases) they’ve actually gone ahead and actually done something they’d like to see done. Bravo! There’s a learning curve, of course, but at least there be Minami Ke Okawari subs now.
They need better editing and they missed translating a line Haruka said at about 13:26-28 in the episode. Otherwise, it’s understandable and usable. I know someone who wants to see if he can edit and QC for them, after seeing the episode. And while they did do one release - that doesn’t mean they’ll keep on doing it. But we can hope for them to do so, given that the show is better than most of the junk out there this season.
Seriously, if Ayako wants to go sub Pantsu Loser, by all means let them. There’s other groups out there, after all… and someday, Ayu will finish Minami-ke first season. Probably after Okawari is done airing. ;)

(And given Zyl’s feti– erm, refined tastes for onee-samas and maids you’d think My Noble Masters was sheer digital crack for him… ^.^)
Rosario and Sky Girls are… ‘bleh’. Spice and Wolf’s better - and honestly, I’d rather take a minute of Hosaka-vision and him stripping (which we get in Ep 3) over a minute or two of recycled ‘transformation’ sequences in Rosario which don’t appear in the manga.
If it wasn’t for the character design being the same, I wouldn’t have recognized Tsukune at all… since he’s now so generic as a harem loser that you could put glasses on him and call him Keitaro or whatever, and not notice the difference with the way he behaves. At least the manga pretends to make him different… and boy, does he become different after Volume 5.
Well, Ayako said ’screw Ayako too’ and got back on the bandwagon. Gotta love how Chiaki justified Fujioka’s presence: “Nabe + gathering + family” means Fujioka. And, of course, she HAS to be the one adopting siblings as well as other family members (Fujioka as father, Touma as her little brother)….
Gotta love how Chiaki’s train of thought seems to run in general. That utterly cracked “recruitement speech” she gave to Touma with a straight face has to be one of the finest animated applications of the Chewbacca Defense I’ve seen in a while…
