What is this way of tying a scarf called? I think of it as the Mikuru Knot, though the first time I ever saw an example of it was on Yukinon in Kare Kano. I’ve always wondered how to do it and now I think I know how to: probably a variation on this first example in this youtube video… Though, of course, the ideal would be to have my own meido (Maria-san I choose you!) to tie my scarf for me before I go out. Ahaha~

While it was nice to see the return of the Legend of Banchou Haruka, the part I enjoyed most was how Chiaki was describing how troublesome the hamster could be while imagining Kana in that grey-white hamster prison garb. Also LOL at how Chiaki was designated Hamster IC by acclamation (stare protocol). Well, at least the situation didn’t resolve itself Azumanga-style (which the kitten escaping and Yukari-sensei saying that it can survive on its own) and I look forward to seeing how this situation develops in the future.
I can’t remember what the blonde (with green ends) girl’s name is but I was just reminded how of much I like it when girls toss their hair. E.g. Haruka-neesan in Okawari after smashing ping pong serve and Haruhi in the OP.

I can’t remember this poor girl’s name; she seems to be stuck playing Straight Man to Hosaka… but she seems to hang around him quite a bit despite her professed disgust… could it be that she secretly likes him!?
That’s probably Haruka’s other friend/fellow victim of Hayami-senpai Maki, who acts as Hosaka’s practice dummy for confessing back in Episode 8 (SUKI DA! *wrench* SUKI DESU! *wrench*). Remember how she looked after Hayami-senpai’s eyes opened that ep, after hearing about Hosaka’s current status.
Besides, the girl that really LIKES Hosaka is that dark-haired girl, whose name escapes me. I must admit though, the way Hosaka’s new hobby scared the hell out of Hayami-senpai made that episode, even more than him cuddling the fish.
The dark-haired one’s Atsuko. Forgot the name, bah.
The one in the last picture is indeed Maki; the tall dark-haired girl Haesslich refers to is Atsuko. I’m not sure if she likes Hosaka; it looks like she is simply impressionable.
The girl with short blonde hair and green ends is Yuu, named second generation banchou by her friend Hiroko (the one next to her in the picture) who in turn named herself her underling. (Man, Minami-ke is full of crazy characters :P).
I’m liking Okawari so far, but I’d like it even more if someone could sub it (my japanese is not that good). Besides, there are a few chapters from the manga I can’t wait to see animated.
Nemo_N: Atsuko said he looked kinda cool when he talked about cooking, got embarassed when he started to strip again, and looked inconsoleable after he ignored her to run off to do something else, which was how Hayami-senpai, Haruka, and Maki found her in the hallway later. I’d say she likes him a bit, anyways.
Was anyone else here besides me disturbed by the literally blank/black faces that surrounded the main characters? It makes me miss the original series, which at least tried to GIVE the bystanders faces.
@Zyl: When I do use a scarf, I tie it the “simple way” that’s described in that video, but I could never figure out how to get that knot correct. Agree on the meido part, though my Pokemon of choice would be one V1046-R MAHORO. But to each his own! :D
@Haesslich: I don’t like the blacked out faces either. I would rather them have some generic face or whatever else. It gives off this dark vibe that really is not what Minami-ke is about. It’s like I’m watching something by Shaft. They seem out of place.
Thanks for all the names! I’m just wonder if side charas should get some kind of name badge to make remembering easier (e.g. Uchida at the end of the first ep of Okawari). :P
Maki liking Hosaka. For someone who claims to be disgusted, she does seem to have a strange fascination with him. Love x Hate = True Love!?
I see black people. That was pretty disturbing. It made me think that everyone else in the school is a Torch or something.
Scarf. I normally use the ’simple way’ too, deftoned. Or one that wasn’t demonstrated, fold scraf in half length-wise and put the double end through the turn/loop at the other end. Mahoro’s a great choice and I would consider her more seriously *but* she’s not good for the health of my porn collection. :P
Hahaha. I have a hard time remember names from such a large cast of minor characters too. I always have to check my own archives…..
Ayako subs made a big mistake in dropping this series. Now any sub group could pick this one up. This series only going to get bigger once people can understand the humor.
