[NSFW] The (Bible Black) Eyes Have It

deftoned started it and I couldn’t resist picking it up. This thing about ‘Bible Black eyes’ in Minami Ke, that is.

So, I asked myself, what exactly are the characteristics of Bible Black eyes? Seems that the most important discriminators are the overall shape of the eye and clear discrimination between the pupil and iris from each other and the rest of the eye.

But perhaps it’s still early days as the OP shows that the Eyes are still present. And may be even more Bible Blackedy than the pre-Okawari iteration. Otanoshimini!

And while I’m on the subject, LOL Bible Black reference in Hayate no Gotoku ep 39!

Awesome! I always thought the eyes in Minami-ke were funny and sort of random way.

Well, the whole ‘elohim’ chant gave it away too. Still I was really surprised that they actually put in BB references.

I feel so left behind in all this because I never saw Bible Black lol

Also, they referenced Bible Black in a children’s anime. Good God.

Hayate is NOT a children’s anime - the manga isn’t either; it’s aimed at teenagers and otaku who’ve seen a lot of series or read a lot of manga. Children’s anime do not include a lot of nudity (which we’ve had here, thank you Maria), or references to series which are so obscure that they’ve got whole websites dedicated to pointing out each and every game/anime/manga reference in each chapter of the manga.

Hayate is otaku series, like Genshiken but with bright colors and funny humor.

Bible Black…. My image of Haruka is ruined…
