Well, you really learn (all the wrong sorts of) new things everyday. I hadn’t paid much attention to the non-dialogue parts of the StrikerS Nano! parodies, which have moved on to the Sound Stages, but I couldn’t help but notice that there’s a repeated use of ‘momi’ when Hayate checked Suzuka’s bust; then those of the female Long Arch staff and, of course, she still likes Signum-neesan’s assets best. LOL [Add: Actually 'momi' is a verb - see Orion's comment]
Hayate’s perviness friendliness is actually canonical, if you consider the Sound Stages to be canonical (which I do), and she specifically gripes about how she has had no time to seku hara (short for ’sexually harass’) the newbies in StrikerS Sound Stage 01. The above image is also official art, rather than fanart, and can be found IIRC the A’s Sound Stage where everyone goes to the public bath house and also in the MEGAMI visual collection artbook.
Girl-on-girl bust-checking has now, as far as Totali and this zaku (this links to a post where I’ve linked the Chanomi parodies about Hayate) are concerned, become *the* official Yagami Hayate no waza. LOL
So far, I’ve only found one corroborating link which defines ‘momi’ as the sound for ‘groping’ while the rest are either blissfully unaware or have swept this one under the carpet. I can’t even being to understand why such an important word has been left out. LOL
A question, that has come to mind, is: Would a facial bust check still be denoted by momi? :P
P.S. While I’m on one of my favourite subjects, i.e. Nanoha parodies, I’d just like to make a belated note of Tamagoya’s Christmas cartoons of Santa Rein and the Wolkenritter / Yagami-gumi’s present for Hayate - I really love how they can portray the Nanoha cast with such feelings of tender sweetness.
lol Zyl….so studious about what matters most.
It’s the verb “momu”, to rub or massage. Not quite an onomatopoeia, but close.
Ah, the rewards of parading my ignorance is enlightenment. Thanks, Orion! So that’s why the other sites didn’t list ‘momi’ as an onomatopoeia (oh yeah, that’s the other thing I learnt - how to spell onomatopoeia without using the Firefox spellcheck plugin lol).
momu (æ‰ã‚€) to momimasu (æ‰ã¿ã¾ã™): literally to rub, wrinkle, massage
Totali, I am only studious about the important things in life! ;)
I just end up goinging jiiiiiiiiii~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
but momi’ing without getting into trouble would be nice too.
What, screw my Frasier DVDs I want a Rein for Christmas!
