V06.Ch060.p126-7: Tough love from Hina towards Yukiji who gets much less prize money than she expected after winning the free style marathon. Yeah, show her who’s Boss/Oneesama here, Hina! LOL at the insult that Yukiji uses on Hina; how can that be a bad thing especially if you accept the Konata/Mayumi Thyme argument? :3

V06.Ch060.p129-132: Hayate goes to see Hina (to build up his dungeon Butler’s Medal raiding party?) but realizes something is wrong when she continuously addresses him as a more distant ‘Ayasaki-kun’ instead of her usual ‘Hayate-kun’. Obviously she is still angry about the Bridge trick that he pulled on her in the free style marathon; tip - if you ask a lady if she’s angry and she replies that she’s not angry, then she’s *definitely* angry with you. If only for having to ask such an obvious question. Revenge mode! LOL I really liked this; reflecting another of Mentar’s points, it showed Hina to be flawed (sore loser, petty vindictiveness etc.) but instead of detracting from her, it showed her to be less than superhuman and also that this kind of behaviour was the exception that proves the rule as she quickly regrets her nastiness to Hayate and resolves to help him. Without admitting so while she’s at it. ;)

V06.Ch061.p138-40: While hesitating about entering the church/dungeon, Hina is surprised by Isumi Saginomiya. LOL at how Hina easily and utterly crushes Isumi’s attempts to dissuade her from entering the dungeon.

V06.Ch061.p150: Just as Team Hayate is getting into a Dai Pinchi, Hina and Isumi, the passing Allies of Justice make a cool entrance with their timely intervention.

V06.Ch062.p151, 153-4: Flashback about Isumi equipping Hina with Wooden Masamune which she uses to dispatch the enemy with her usual skill.

V06.Ch062.p157-8: Hina gets filled in by Nagi about the Tiger’s Den for Butlers and the quest for the antidote to Hayate’s poisoned system.

V06.Ch062.p159: Hina tsundere! Insisting that she was ‘just passing’ as Hayate expresses how happy he was that she had come to his rescue. Oh so cute~~

Vol06.Ch063.p169-70: Sister Fortesia reveals her true intentions and Hina notices that her giant robo, like the Evangelions, runs on a power cord which she promptly disconnects. LOL at how it’s like a typical Japanese household 2 pin plug.

V06.Ch063.p175-9, 184: Another Hina MVP intervention yet again when she blocks Fortesia’s attack. Fortesia’s no pushover but she’s got bigger problems in the form of her possessed older sister. Offers a consolation prize to Yukiji. LOL In the end, it was still Hayate’s devotion to Nagi that caused him to unleash his demon mode with hurricane attack. A repeating motif in the manga and anime which points to Nagi as the Promised Girl Who Saw The Guy First, even though Hina is the better match For Great Justice.

V06.Ch63.p187: Interesting character profile on Miki Hanabishi. One of her listed ‘Likes/Strengths’ is ‘Things that cause Hinagiku difficulty’ which is elaborated in the write-up below, after noting that Hina and Miki have been together since lower primary school. Not so sure about the rest of the text - did Hinagiku save her from bullying? *rolls eyes at the cliche* Of course, she sees Hinagiku as cool. The rest about vexing difficulties and the complicated nature of dealing with such difficulties was utterly beyond me though:

もっと「そんなかっこいいのヒナギク」を困らせるのがなにより好きだったりするので、困ったものである。 しかし自分以外の人間がヒナギクを困らせるのはがまんならないという複雑さ。　このへんの複雑さが描いてて楽しいどころではありますが。
