It has taken me quite a long time to ‘get’ Minami Ke. I was scratching my head at Kurogane’s initial awesome rating and tjhan’s favouriting of Kana. I didn’t think and still don’t think that Kana holds a candle to Miu of Ichigo Mashimaro in terms of wit, bizarreness, or Evil- Psychotic-Lesbian-in-training-ness. Devils on anyone who says otherwise! :3
But, given how Haruka already tickled my Oneesama fancy, it was just a matter of time before I had my Road to Damascus conversion by the glorious power that was Episode V: The Anime Strikes Back’s swimsuit fan service: Sugoi wa ne~~ I Will Worship You, Haruka-neesama!
High school uniform with blazer and tie is good.
High school uniform with blazer, tie, and bra is even better.

My favourite trap remains Jun Watarase but The Legend of Mako-chan is deservedly… legendary.

Seeing middle school Haruka- nee sama was great too. Surprised, just slightly, at how bossy she was. Additional brownie point for the cute Higurashi Rena Ryuguu reference. As was Haruka middle school uniform cosplay. She did the twirly thing so no composite screencap. Haiz.
Okiieeee, hands up for all you who thought about something else that’s white and creamy other than ’shaving cream’! *raises hand meself before changing colours like a traffic light*

Yes, definitely this way round. With just a flick of the wrist with the palm outwards and towards the viewer, it means a whooooole different thing in Albion.
Anyway, for me, thanks mainly to Haruka-neesama, Minami Ke has been WIN.

Haruka-sama BANZAI!!!
“I didn’t think and still don’t think that Kana holds a candle to Miu of Ichigo Mashimaro”
That may be so, but Miu is only liked by extreme lolicons, while Minami-ke cast is for all of us, normal people.
Oh my, an oneesama fan.
I so entirely agree with you about Kana. She’s certainly a sociopath, but can’t hold a candle to Miu. Is it even lesbianism if the object of your obsession is your sister? That just sounds like “lazy” to me.
And I 100% disagree with your comment, Karry. I think that Minaki-ke is really very dull, with icky incest as the fetish du jour. I’m in no way a lolicon (my loathing for children both real and fictional is well known,) but Miu makes IM win.
Cheers,
Erica

Kurogane, better late than never. :P
Haruka-neesama banzai!
Karry, with respect to your claim that “Miu is only liked by extreme lolicons, while Minami-ke cast is for all of us, normal people.” Hello? I did specify with respect to “wit, bizarreness, or Evil- Psychotic-Lesbian-in-training-ness.” Thanks for quoting me out of context and without understanding the general thrust of my thoughts. Conversely, how about people who sexualize their fandom of Chiaki? And, as a corollary, how about fans who do *not* sexualize their fandom of the Ichigo Mashimaro cast excluding Nobue?
Totali, well, this blog has been known to some as the oneesama faction of the SISCON alliance! ;)
Erica, thanks for your support. :)
LOL, siscons are lazy.
Even though Minami-ke isn’t quite as funny as Ichigo Mashimaro, doesnt Kana seemed a little more lovable than Miu? Kana isn’t all that baka, ad Miu tends to get a little irritating sometimes…
Evil-Psychotic-Lesbian-in-training-ness, Banzai!
I like them all. Yes, I am that greedy. Miu, Kana, whoever. As long as they are cute =/
Kabitzin, afterall there’s no need to even leave home! XD
du5k, actually I think that comparing Minami Ke and Ichigo Mashimaro is like comparing Azumanga and Lucky Star i.e. there are some comparable similarities but the series are more different than similar, each with their own distinct world views and thus mixes of strengths and weaknesses. I understand why some find Kana more lovable than Miu but IMHO Kana’s antics come a genuine dumbness while Miu’s much wittier antics come from a refusal to conform; I happen to prefer the latter type of characterization.
eviltrain, EPLness banzai!
Impz, verily an all-encompassing compromise! ;)
