I must confess to being bitterly disappointed with how Nagasarete is turning out and this episode, despite the Mikoto fun, was probably the last straw. I don’t expect anime adaptations of manga to follow the source material exactly but the way the story was changed removed the things which I found most promising - mostly because I favour the approach of building up Rin as a credible rival to Suzu, thus aiding the realization of her feelings for Ikuto leading to cute jealousy and apron wars 4TW. But alas.

Santa’s Little Helper muses that Onionhead Akamatsu hasn’t gotten beyond a certain steel door. Alita and Milano have a lover’s quarrel after the former accidentally breaks a precious memento. Alita goes off goblin slaying in a huff but Milano gets Megged kidnapped by a giant robo and is then interrogated by Knife Loli-robo as to how the princess suddenly became strong. Riding to the rescue, Alita drops her weapons as a result of Milano’s life being threatened. But Big Brother Prince Kaitou returns and saves the day.

The captains give the newbies their off-pass. Subara x Tiia and Elio x Caro go on their respective "dates" respectively. However, there are ominous signs in the politics of the TSAB, Ginga’s discovery of a biological (cloning?) pod amid another gadget raid and the arrival of another loli, via the sewers, chained to relic cases.
Unexpected fan service with Subaru’s sexu hara method of waking up sleepy head Tiia. I must confess grimacing though. Partly because how I felt bad for Tiia, whom I now firmly think is attracted to Subaru, because she probably doesn’t mind being felt up by Subaru but that she’d want a different mode of intentionality from Subaru who’s just being thoughtlessly playful. The other thought that occurred to me was: ‘Ah, characters voiced by Mai Nakamura Nakahara [Thanks, Ivy!] should be busty. There’s just a bustiness about her voice.’ orz

Given how Konata tends to see the world as an extension of anime, manga and games, I sometimes feel that she sees Kagami as a validation of that worldview - given how Kagami fits the tsundere archetype. In any case, I tend to find Kagami’s dere side (sick visit, goldfish) to be scarier than her tsun (normal) side. -_-;;

After being knocked out by Nanoha’s Crossfire Shoot during the morning mock battle, Tiia finally wakes up at night; Shamal noting that her exhaustion due to extra training contributing to this. The Doctor deploys new flying gadgets and the flight-capable Nanoha, Fate and Vita head out to deal with them - not before Signum punches Tiia for [edit: implying favouritism in selecting the others and how she didn't need that, wanting to prove herself by getting stronger even if it kills her.] Signum, Shamal and Shari show recap footage, SUNRISE-style, mainly from the first season to the forwards about how Nanoha’s been there, done there and got the t-shirt at the tender age of nine.
