I haven't seen much gundam so I'll take Haesslich's word for it that Zaft is a NATO like organization. But it does seem kind of odd yelling something like "For NATO!" Normally you would use the name of your actual country and/or immediate socio-political affiliation, or an abstract idea.

"For America," "For France," "For 'insert country here,'" "For freedom," or "For great justice," seem to flow better than something like, "For the sake of NATO

"For the Horde" does flow nicely however. It's probably just really an artifact of the impossibility of perfect transliteration mixed with where and how you learned your English that we are using to discuss this. So, some things will sound fine to one person but odd to the next while still being grammatically correct.

“NATO no tameni.”

It sure cracks me up though. hehe

Hah! Remember the Orcs in warcraft shouting "FOR THE HORDE!!"? The horde is an alliance as well, comprising the different clans like Warsong etc. Does that make sense?

OMG I sound like a nerd.
