As observed by Omni, hardly any new stuff. LOL’ed at Rin’s description of Asa as a "super woman". The format seems to be setting up how Rin got to know each of the girls (thus fitting with the new and quite nice YURIA OP, Fateful Encounters). If there have thirteen episodes in total, then it’s possible we might get two episodes dedicated to each haremette (Kaede, Sia, Nerine, Primula and Asa) and still have two left for completely new material. Or we could have one episode each but also including Eustoma & Forbeshi, Itsuki, Ama, Mayumi, Beni-sensei and Kareha with new material spliced into each with space for one entirely new episode. Could also be that there isn’t going to be an alternative ending or that they’re going to have all the other alternative endings other than the canonical Asa end from the original WOWOW broadcast. Zyl, I read your review after being perplexed by the raw myself (I know no Japanese other than a few phrases and words I’ve picked up watching anime), and then I got to thinking - maybe it will be an episode on each girl (or each character if you include the supporting characters getting episodes), only from *their* perspective rather than Rin’s - about how *they* saw things happening - as well as revealing a few things that happened off-scene in the course of the story. I’d be tempted to say that since the Kareha confession to Asa about Rin was in the footage (which is exclusive to the Asa story arc) that the story arc doesn’t change (major AAA fan here ^^, so looking forward to Asa’s episode).
I also remember reading somewhere (maybe here, I can’t remember where I read it) that Shuffle! Memories was a director’s cut, and if that is the case, director’s cuts usually don’t change the storyline, but merely offer additional footage that wasn’t in the original. The idea of individual characters presenting their additional insights into the events of the original series would definitely fit the bill.
You have far more patience than I. I watched for about 3 minutes, said to myself, “Clip Job,” and moved on.
I’m going to be disappointed if it’s a rehash of the first series. Don’t get me wrong; the first series was great. But if I want to sit through it again, I’ll just re-watch it.
They’re going to focus on the five main girls. We will have a 5-episode run of Part-Ones, followed by another 5-episode run of Part-Twos.
It’s nice to see Kaede in action again, even if it is mostly rehashed scenes. Seeing her sweet innocent smile… her distorted expressions as a little girl… Gawds, I’m in delirium from joy!
Other characters that I happen to like, and hope to see more of in the future episodes would be Mayumi and Nerine.
It’s not blatantly obvious, but there are some original scenes in this episode, that are not from the original run.
Hearing Rin is just so weird after watching Kanon…
