Blood+ 50

Yuri headbutt 4tw. Rather less dramatic than their previous reunion all those episodes ago but given all the development with Hagi (and Kai), it was probably appropriate. Still wish Kaori had given Saya a non-melon pan gohobi though.

SHUFFLE! Memories & Really? Really!

Me heart fluttered with excitement when I read the announcement that SHUFFLE! will returning to TV in the winter. Thought it was going to be an OVA. Apparently SHUFFLE! Memories is just a Director’s Cut (whatever that means) repeat broadcast with new OP and ED.

Read Omni’s invaluable season preview post that another Navel offering, Lovedol ~Lovely Idol!, will be coming to our screens but given that (1) the Soul Link anime didn’t win many fans and (2) asread improved on the SHUFFLE! story when producing the anime, I’m adopting a sit and wait attitude to that.

In any case, Navel seems to be powering ahead with the SHUFFLE! franchise with yet another sequel game. Whereas Tick! Tack! was Nerine-centric, Really? Really! appears to be aimed at the boxcutter-wielding, Asa-lynching hoodies of the KKK. :P

Strawberry Panic 22

I think this episode should be called ‘How Hikari Pwns Everyone’ - she starts off by triggering the Prince(ss?) of Tennis thing by reawakening Kaname’s sense of honour and causing Ms Snake Eyes to give up the teachings of Megumi Kannazuki. Then she easily deflects Shion’s attempts to manipulate her into persuading Amane to run for Etoile. To top it all of, she manages to heal Yaya’s heart and restore our dark-haired goddess’ will to sing while maintaining the Amane x Hikari line.

Lunamaria Corner

Due to lack of luggage space, I could only bring one figurine back to London with me. Without a doubt, it had to be the MegaHouse RAH.DX Lunamaria in mecha pilot outfit. Now she’s the centrepiece of the Lunamaria corner of the apartment and I often glance fondly in her direction when I’m working at my desk. The poster is the loveliest hardcopy picture I possess, courtesy of good ole bro Stripey. I liked its soft water colour texture so much that I actually went to buy a 40 x 30 cm photo frame for it.
