Yuri headbutt 4tw. Rather less dramatic than their previous reunion all those episodes ago but given all the development with Hagi (and Kai), it was probably appropriate. Still wish Kaori had given Saya a non-melon pan gohobi though.
No time even for a proper farewell. Sigh, it would have just been impossible to fit in. I thought that Kaori’s feelings for Saya and their initial cuddliness was very cute but also liked how, as things developed, Kaori was one of the few people to still unconditionally regard Saya as her friend even though she had some small inkling about Saya’s vampirism thus representing Saya’s link to her humanity and being able to call Okinawa "home".
A friendly headbutt spells out yuri? :o I’m afraid to say I’m still trying to see it.
Given how Kaori has behaved towards Saya (cf Ep 1 and 14), it’s friendly and more. :D
And Saaya doesn’t seem too interested in men either.
Zyl: Yes, that’s the thing - I can’t really understand it, since my friendships with my girlfriends are exactly on the same level as Saya/Kaori’s. But are you a yuri fan? Because if that’s the case, then I could at least understand that it is an opinion formed from shipping the couple. ^^
Mayu: Mainly because that’s not really the focus… but throughout the latter half, Saya has expressed a certain awareness whenever she and Kai touched. I’ve just watched Episode 50, and it seems the romantic focus is established between Saya and her chevalier.

One year later and Kaori is still shorter and smaller than Saya(Who I might add, didn’t seem to have gotten bigger, just a ittle mature - only that when she is with Kaori, she seemed to lose her maturity) This leaves great possibilites for a fic. Wait, could Kaori be something non-human too?
it is very unbelieveable that she is still that size after all this time. I mean, look at them, they still look as much as they did in the begining eps.
Saya and Kaori maybe friends…to amateur fans, but there is something there. I have an inkling that if Kaori kissed Saya, it would be like the most natural thing in their world. Picking rice off lips and eating it(Remembers the scene from Air Master - all those shocked faces), wiping for them their mouths(Oh come on. Tell me you can do that to your only friend)
And one last point - DOes someone know if Kaori had a boyfirend? I am sure if she did, then as girl friends(Not girlfriends) Kaori should’ve told Saya about it in their Oh so normal conversation.

To people saying they don’t see the yuri, it’s important to note that, while to a Western eye the interaction between Saya and Kaori raises a bit of an eyebrow in its seeming flirtiness but is nevertheless possibly just very cuddly friendship, to a Japanese eye that physical contact is more significant, not less: my close friend is a Japanese major, and she has explained to me that to the Japanese a hug, for example, is considered very forward.
