All this rolling around the floor and screaming my affection for Yuki is starting to hurt. Especially when you start crashing into the furniture and your throat goes hoarse. Latest attack of Yuki moé (or as tj_han86 puts it: those old feelings of Rei-love, except Yuki is arguably even better - a new, improved and higher evolved Rei) was due to listening to her character songs. [I found the word bubble on the booklet very Azumanga btw.]
Let’s start with the downsides. While I enjoyed Minori Chihara’s rendition of "Hare Hare Yukai", it wasn’t very moé as it felt rather too energetic and didn’t fit Yuki’s restrained air of understatement. But I liked "SELECT?" even though it was a Not Very Yuki lovey ballad. Major redeeming point was that it was oh so sweet and funny due to the incorporation of computer terms recalled Yuki’s communication with Kyon in MoHS IV and her programming prowess in Day of Sagitarius.
Attempt at translation of "Yuki, Muon, Madobe nite" and further thoughts follow: Continue reading ‘Yuki Nagato: Snow, Silence, At the Window Side’

Latest addition to the Lunamaria figurine collection, i-voice doll Lunamaria Hawke featuring Maaya Sakamoto, acquired on my behalf by Stripey. I’m not big on gimmicks and the added maintenance issue for the voice record and playback worried me slightly but it’s a fine looking figurine and I like the pose too. It certainly looks much better than this Bandai model which doesn’t even feature the original seiyuu! Continue reading ‘Livin La Vida Luna’
This episode focuses on my least favourite character of the 1-C Six, Good Girl Rokugo, but it was also useful in making her more interesting. It ties in her character development with the appearance of a vintage car in the Academy carpark. After Media reports that she saw Rokugo riding shotgun and talking intimately to the driver, the clique are overwhelmed with curiosity about No.6’s possible romantic interest. Hilarity ensues. Main story concentrates on Behoimi and Media working together to defuse a large number of bombs that have suddenly appeared around Momotsuki Academy. Though neither character are my favourites, I liked the way the episode added interest by hinting at their shared history of military operations (possibly on opposing sides) as well as Behoimi’s hostility which develops into an uneasy friendship with possible yuri overtones. The side story of 1-C’s presentations of summer projects merge into the main story to bring Becky and gang in. Much suffering for Mesousa in the process. LOL. Continue reading ‘Pani Poni Dash! 10′
