A self-destruct mechanism is something which causes a Stripey to destroy himself under a predefined set of circumstances. Self-destruct mechanisms in a Stripey are often marked by certain keywords. It is activated by the Stripey in question when it is important for the Stripey to annihilate himself for comic relief.
As much as I’d like to claim credit for the punnage that is the title of this particular series, the credit rightfully belongs to T_I.

On the side note, nauzron remains unseen/undepicted by a symbol/embodiment. Perhaps, she is like the entity that echoes thru our mind like kyon’s speeches. In this case, Stripey’s goddess of fate? :P
Ack. I got the spelling wrong in the last panel - correct spelling is Nauzron. She’s his fianceé. Any more personal info I’ll leave for him to disclose or not.
As to why I’ve never drawn Nauzron, it’s a bit like the ‘unseen’ character device that’s been used in various series like Frasier (you never see Niles’ ex-wife). She also doesn’t delve into the anime world that Stripey and I spend a lot of time in so her presence is mainly the voice of a non-otaku. But the real reason is because I’m lazy.
Well in the last Nauzron comment in cnatonese it roughly translates to “been-tai” or insane. What is actual message she was trying to convey in what I assume would be mandarin, pray telll?
